I totally agree. I've actually used FSH editor for its warping and recolouring properties, rather than GIMP or MS paint -- it's simpler, for stuff like that.
Also I have to correct -- furcadia is technically non-isometric, at least according to DA. Isometric is like 3D, Sims 2 or 3 type thing where you can see all angles. Furcadia and Sims 1 are at the same, technically 2D, perspective. (In fact you can screenshot Sims 1 items, shrink, and use for furc!)
I've been playing Furcadia for four years, and I've enjoyed (and enjoying) the good times we shared. I'm not exactly the best portrait/patch drawer, but a thurrily enjoy a good dose of RP. Rock on Mr. Furcadia-Patch-Guy. :3
Excellent video! I entirely agree with the thought that FSH (or FOX, as the "new" term for it is) is an excellent program, despite its intense lack of colors. If people could bypass the whole "FURCADIA FFFF" mindset (I'm sure you know which one), and actually look at the game, it's not half bad... for a game run entirely in little editable pixels. :B
If you need a good image editor just use gimp, as a college art student (and a furry) this is what i use. It's a free version of photoshop and it's really good.
I don't like FSH. Only because my computer - for some unexplained reason - keeps closing it when I try to open it, saying that it has to close due to error. I really want to make my ports change color when I get one for my account, but I have NO IDEA why FSH won't open! Dx Anyone have a similar problem? Tips? Ideas?
It's really not a very good image editor; unless you're doing something for Furcadia. And it shouldn't really be compared to other editors that don't have a specified purpose. Furcadia has limited colors to start with and that's why there's only limited colors in the editor.
I usually do all my patching on Paint and paste it into the editor (using the transparent color as my base on Paint, which is this weird pink color, so I can just copy and paste my work in). I like using paint better because I can have all my buttons (I've been skining a lot lately)/items together on the same canvas so I can just use the fsh editor to organise them as seperate items and set the positions and things like that.
And also as a port artist, I like to have the remapable colors all layed out next to eachother (I printscreen the editor and paste it to paint) so I'm not confused by the similar colors.
Thanks for showing the wallhanging trick though! I knew that trick, but I was doing it pixel by pixel! I hadn't found the automatic skew on the editor yet!
Loooooooooooooooong comment is loooong. Sorry ._.;
No, you cannot. The file extensions FSH and FBJ (Currently having been replaced with FOX) are creatable ONLY with this program. MSN paint also lacks transparent layering, and as a con MSN paint has larger color selection, by that i mean this one has limits Paint dont.
played furc for 7 years never knew it could do this :o

I would but GIMP refuses to function on my computer. Thanks a trillion for the comment and the advice though.

@SethRussel Gimp is not a version of photoshop, it's a separate free program.
