i was going to get a 06 mustang with this years tax return, i work next door to a car dealer ship and this very pretty 04 toyota tacoma truck was sitting in the used side of the lot just looking at me day in and day out for about 6 months. tax day came and i drove away in my taco. i love this truck she talked to me and has been my best friend and has gottin me in and out of lots of mud!! i still want a stang but i can see a pretty stang playing in the mud like my taco!! lol

Let's face it, the only reason Toyota trucks aren't the best-selling in the US is because diesel variants aren't sold in the US. I just love the Toyota Pickup,i just fall'd for it once i saw it for the first time, size, shapes, curves, 4x4, reliability and its a diesel.

Now i know this movie is 4 years old, but the truck its called Hilux, here in Denmark we have the 2L 2.4D(78 Bhp) or 2.4TD(90Bhp) engines models, 2, 4 doors model whit hardtop.

To sad, i don't own one.

I'm 19 and my friends think i'm nuts because i want this truck so baaad.

lucky dude, that thing must be tons of fun. And no rust, thats just crazy! I live in WI and most of the old Toyota trucks are really rusty, and the ones that aren't are pretty expensive. I had a 1991 Toyota 4Runner, the engine was really bad, and it was beat to hell by the time we sold it, but it was deffinatly a fun truck. I want to get a 1995 4Runner, but I'm really nervous about the engines after my '91.

it all depends on how you maintain and treat the vehicle. like alot of the newer toyotas are shit. my neighbor's camry had that new 6spd automatic and the tranny dropped the same week he bought it brand new. i dont like the new toyotas. i think the quality of their products is starting to decline. the older toyotas like the old 80s/90s toyotas are the only ones i would ever buy. just like fords. i wont ever buy fords. theyre junk. i stick to hondas.

mauistyl: I disagree in some cases. The only Ford trucks that I think are worth anything are the older F150s with the 300 Straight 6's in them. I had a few neighbors who owned them and have gotten 250k or more out of em with no problems. I used to have an '86 Toyota SR5 pickup and it rusted all to shit but I got 300k out of it and all i ever did was change the brakes once and put in a new clutch. Then again I've seen fords take shits and i've seen toyota trucks with fried tranny's/gears.

F250 may be able to tow more but diesels don't get enough power to the rear axels. I think. The Tacoma and Tundra get like 24 and 16 mpg, Your diesel gets probably get 10-14. Much cheaper in the long run.

What I foolish thing to say. I like the Toyotas and have a few friends with them - they're NICE!!! But they'd never be able to pull the loads I can in my F250 diesel. If you want to wreck your tranny you're welcome to try, but as nice as the Toyotas are, they aren't going to pull 6 TONS like my truck, and last. They're just not built for that kind of work. Oh yeah, my daily driver is a 1996 Passat TDI.

5.7 Tundra is a good strong truck but the frame deflection it suffers with when you put a heavy load (several TONS) on the back end isn't acceptable for me. This weekend alone we pulled a loaded 20' horse trailer, then a 25' stock (cattle) trailer. I know of a guy with a 99 F350 that pulled 49,000lbs. UPHILL with only minor mods. They just haven't built one for that purpose YET. Not saying they WON'T or CAN'T, just that they DON'T...for now.

I've pulled an F250 out of the mud with my tacoma. I have 220,000 miles on her. She's been under water 3 times, and the engine never died, and she still keeps going. Oh and I don't have a snorkel on her. My tacoma will out last your ford. Ford sucks.

You missed my point. It was not bragging, but simple facts, and done to demonstrate that the truck I own is suited to how I use it. The right tool for the right job. For some, Tundras & Tacomas are perfect. Ridgelines for others. 1-ton diesels for others too. The point is, there really is no "one-size-fits-all" perfect truck for every purpose
