Why was the photos app considered a part of the "phone package"? I didn't notice that when I originally watched this presentation in 2007, but now that seems odd. It's an independent app and it has nothing to do with the phone.

Real keyboard for real work; would NOT want plastic keys on my smartphone. The advantage of the virtual keyboard on the iPhone, as Jobs stated, was the flexible interface it created. That is why the iPhone is so natural because apps can be configured to optimize human interaction. Out of 6 PCs I own and use regularly, only one is an Apple device, the iPhone. Hats off.

Well obviously, but how is that a pro to it being a computer? Those computers back then weren't even able to do many tasks. You can't use a iPhone/iPad as a computer, it isn't practical or functional enough.

by definition the iphone is a computer ("a computer is a programmable machine")

what cant you do on an ipad? (note that no apps are currently avaible to take full advantage of it , this means that desktop class apps will emerge in the future)

also the ipad is a media consuption device not a laptop , but that doesnt mean it cant accomplish similar functions

Look at the Nexus One. With it's Qualcomm SnapDragon 1GHz processor. Now that's a computer. Heck, if anything the Archos tablet is better, computer wise mind you, than the iPhone. And I will admit, I'm more partial to both of them as I am currently running and Android phone.

NOTHING can beat the REAL keyboard. Hence, what he said was BS about plastic keyboards. But yeah, those actual keyboards DO hog our space hence it becomes a subjective choice. But, solely on the ease of use, REAL keyboard beats an on-screen haptic keyboard hands down too. Let alone this one!

YES, although nothing can beat the real keyboard, it still amuzes me that no one has actually made a better on-screen keyboard than apple, even though apple's keyboard hasnt really changed since 2006.

I'm not surprised in the least. Apple came out with a truly innovative, and far more advanced product in the way of a touchscreen mobile device than anyone had or has yet to produce. Plain and simple. This "real" keyboard "fake" keyboard bull crap is getting kinda old. They are BOTH REAL keyboards. However, the kind you prefer are ANALOG, and the iPhone's is DIGITAL. Plain and Simple (again). They both rely on their HARDWARE & SOFTWARE to do that function, no difference at all.

i have an iphone 3g and im not getting sms pics.. people are telling me they sent me a picture and im not even getting the message saying my user id and password to view it. just nothing..anyone know what the f is going on?

i have a 3g iphone, i love it. but i have to say i miss understood the bluetooth, bluetooth does not work for sending or recieving files from other phones or notebooks. no mms, no video recording. however most of these are availible if you jailbreak your device, something i am seriously thinking about

Thats coming in firmware 3, but I think it will only work iphone to iphone for sending files... I think.

Picture texting would be nice but I dont understand the big deal. Amost all phones have email access dont they? Text messaging only goes to phones. Emails go to phones and computers or anywere with internet access.

I have one, I love my iPhone. There are a few complaints, which I'm sure they will work out. I can't quite remember my complaints (I only have like about 3). But anyway, he isn't kidding about typing on here. It takes some getting used to, converting yourself over from a fixed keyboard to a touch keyboard that corrects typos as you go, but after you get the hang of it, you type much faster than on any other phone.

For the current price of $399 USD, it's worth it.
