Never heard this before--nor have i ever heard OF it! WOW! It couldn't be 1976....I did a GOOGLE and here is what I found: Send Him Back was a b-side on the 7'' Destination No More Heartache released on March 1972 by Atlantic performed by the legendary family girl group , the Pointer Sisters. ----'72 is much more like it!
Hi, its on After Hours Vol3, have a look on Amazon, alas it won't let post a link.
Just wondering if anyone knows anymore Pointer Sister tracks in this vein; unfortunately I can only find soft jazz ones or cheesy 80's ones which are not to my taste?
@karmannghiaman07 Another great early release from the Pointers is a tune: Dont Try To Take The Fifth ... find it on Youtube ... the URL wont post here.
I was a POINTER SISTERS fan from Yes We Can Can on, very loyal, and I NEVER HEARD THIS SONG!! So damn hot, it shhould have been a huge hit. When was it recorded? And that is Bonnie in the lead right?
Recorded in New Orleans on 27th Sept. 1971 and released on Atlantic Records in 1972. This was first regularly played at the Northern Soul venue, Blackpool Mecca's Highland Room by resident DJ's Ian Levine and (ex Torch) Colin Curtis in 1975. The record was deleted shortly after its USA release and is still one of my and Northern Soul DJ's all time favourites. Released in 2005 on UK Warner Music CD "After Hours 3" straight from the master tape - What a Gem!
monster monster tune, favorite nortern tune of all time, closely followed, by come on train, don thomas, and learning to trust my man, sisters love,, love to dance to it in beachcombers before the casino opened.... eh them where he days,
@7DDuncan Do you remember when the Beachcomber opened in the morning from 8am till god knows when - then there was the early sessions in M's from around 7pm - WHAT A CLUB!!

First played (like so many other so-called "Wigan Classics" on Youtube) at the Highland Room, Blackpool - in 1975, not 1976.

Lovely to hear this again brings back such memories, although personally it probably reminds me more of Cleethorpes than Wigan.
