Dunno, male Celestia should be a king, she is just a princess in the show because little girls connect princess with good and queens with evil, but with genderbending, we would the connecting of princes with love interest and kings with faithful rullers.

But he still sounds awesome, there is just something powerful on that voice, specially with that character, colt Twi(dunno the right name u_u) sounds nerdy yet cool, and Elusive sounds absolutelly gay! I love it!

Also, Celestia stood as the sole ruller for 1000 years, and Luna is back for less that 2 years, my personal in-universe guess for it is that Celestia keep the princess title as a way to make her job seem lighter, as she clearly hates it, and you kinda shouldn't argue with the physical goddess...
