This song is an epic ballad. That's really they only way to describe it. And I don't use the word "epic" like some Call of Duty NewFag. I mean epic as a literary term.
Question: The wikipedia page for this album lists Jon Vesano as "lead vocals", but I always thought Karl Sanders was the main vocalist. Can anyone put me straight here?
@KV286 actually they all do vocals they take turns throughout verses so theirs no real "lead vocal" but no "backing vocals" they all do vocals watchem live but thats just what it looks like to me :)
Yeah, rather redicoulous. But instead of complaing on a forum, you guys SHOULD be complaining at youtube's ppl themselves. Maybe then you would get something to change...
With The Egyptian Mythology theme plus Death Metal musicality, I think Septic Flesh dethrones Nile very easily ... This is souless in my humble opinion. Only grunts, growlings and orc sounds with a little bit of egyptian influences in the background doesn't make any band the best in the world. Just my point of view, don't impale me
Words can not do this song enough justice. It's everything good music should be: an amalgamation of various influences into one amazing masterpiece of sound.
wait so when did nile form exactly? ive been listeningto them for a while but havent really looked up their history alot, someone said in the 80's but then someone said in the early 2000's? anybody know?
@MegaMetalDemon Nile formed in 1993, & Karl Sanders is to Nile as Dave Mustaine is to Megadeth, or as Muhammed Suicmez is to Necrophagist - the creator or mostly everything. Karl Sanders was originally in a Thrash Metal band called Moriah, they toured with a little young band called MORBID ANGEL, needless to say, David Vincent, and Trey Azagthoth had a HUGE impact on him. He has always been into egyptology, so he decided to form Nile in 1993. Their debut album came in 1998. Hope this helps!
@TheMusicOfWhy the 3 shit arse bands that you listed don't even deserve to be mentioned in the same name as nile they are total trash, you must be one of the new age morons that parade around thinking and claiming they like metal, go suck a hot topic tit boy
@zaabi100... I couldn't agree more. I would love to see the look on their faces at a live show with massive speakers, and power in sound which they could never have imagined in those days... they would certainly have thought it was godlike!
This one song took me from liking "catchy songs on the radio" to having a deep interest and appreciation for all music. This song introduced me to music. Thank god for Nile \m/
at 5 minutes and on till the horn and solo it sounds badass thats the best part of the whole song all the acustic parts are awesome too i used to love this song back in highschool but ive outgrown it now it was awesome to hear it again
Wow I officially feel like a total ass-monkey for not listening to Nile until just recently. Perhaps because I recently got into death metal, but either way, Nile is the shit
@xxpeniskingxx I said death metal. Meshuggah is my favourite band but in my oppinion they are experimental metal. Opeth are progressive. And im not into Death and SYL, but i've heard of them, and i got their stuffs, but i dont like them much.
