Slavery did not make America wealthy. It only made the slave owners wealthy. The slave owners were about 2% of the population. Democracy and Capitalism made America great. Just look at countries that don't have democracy or capitalism. Slavery did not begin or end with the USA, and has been practiced by most all races. Slavery existed for thousands of years.
