I don't think any teachers were teaching that those who don't think Christmas is Jesus' bday are sinners--kids! But more importantly, Jesus was intolerant of "difference of belief". What you say doesn't make any sense--especially if you teach young people to think critically. As kids mature they will figure out that they have some questions and that they have to think.

I John 2 tells us that Jesus prays for his people as intercessor. Acts 3:13, 4:27, 30 and Jesus' own words in Mark 10:45 indicate fully a trinitarian view of God. the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are three persons yet one God. The Son of Man is a title of Deity. Just look at the book of Daniel for more on this.  Also see what the response of the Jewish leadership was when he said in Matt 26 that the Son of Man would return. Son of Man is a title of deity in the Scriptures.

The problem with your interpretations of Scripture is that there is no systematic approach. We can make any book say anything we want when we just pick and choose.

Finally, Luke 13 Jesus does indeed refer to himself as a prophet. This again has no bearing on the deity of Jesus Christ. He was fulfilling the office of prophet, priest and king which are witnessed throughout the Old Testament. As the perfect prophet he reveals to us the truth of God's will and the way to the Father.
