@TTGxGraviti Well i would prefer Linuix over everything if they had more gaming, with PC's I can do C++ and not have to code it so much to work with OS X compared to A computer running LInuix or Windows. I dont feel like paying $2000 for a Mac when i can by a PC for $999 that has more power and i can change its parts, more USB and ESATA input ports. And I don't have to pay so much for programs for Mac when I can get freeware versions that are better then what you use.

Both Vista and XP actually defrag too, but only when computer is being unused for about 15-30 minutes.

Nope - wrong answer... that would be some kind of disk compression. Dfrag moves files around to try and make them contiguous, that way the HDD doesnt have to work as hard to find the data, thus increasing read performance.

defraging is just simply asking your computer to sort out its harddisk.

usually overtime when you install and delete file the hard drive will have a lot of small empty slots in the middle. So defragging will move existing file into this empty slots so can free up space.

It is automatic by nature of the default file systems used by Mac OS X. By that logic, Macs "defrag all the time" whereas Windows (on NTFS or FAT) run on manual/scheduled defragmentations.

Windows does automatic defrag too. If you don't use a computer for a certain amount of time, Windows starts defragging your system drive.

I hate macs, but not mac users, so please don't be offended. It's just that I use my PC excessively, with no problems. But at school for both graphic design and computer programing we use macs, and they end up having a lot of problems. And the macs at school are considered "top of the line" where they don't even compare to my "Bottom of the line" PC.

The problems? Programs crashing/locking up, system crashing/locking up, at times things like the mouse, keyboard, or sound, will just stop working... Etc.

And when I said bottom of the line that was a bit of an overstatement up my pc doesn't exactly come close to competing with todays pc's.

And I'm not saying necessarily that there's something wrong with Macs. I had an Iphone and it was great before I broke it. Unfortunately they don't offer insurance for them because they'r'e prone to breaking. I considered buying a mac, but I stuck with a pc because I know that it's more capable than a Mac. They can do anything a mac can do, and more. It's really a no brainer, if you ask me.
