Hey, he forgot to mention that Paul shot him in 1989. James survived that because he had reloaded the gun with blanks before Paul took it and pretended to die when Paul fired it, so he wouldn't have to go to court. James went into hiding and didn't reappear until 1996.

This could've been said;

James: "My son, Paul also shot me. It's always good to reload your gun with blanks when you're not using it and to just roll over and play dead when someone else fires it at you."

James Stenbeck was ranked as the SECOND most evil villian in soap history. (The first was Stefano DiMera from DOOL). James Stenbeck was always one step ahead whenever someone was after him. Not many soap villians were close to his level. Asa Buchanan(OLTL), Todd Manning(OLTL), Sheila Carter(B&B/Y&R) and even Victor Newman(Y&R) would have a hard time handling him.

James Stenbeck finally died shortly before ATWT was cancelled in 2010. Anthony Herrera passed away on June 21, 2011. RIP.

Without question, daytime tv's best villan ever!!!! My favorite line was when he was holding Hal hostage - while on the phone, Hal starts to wake up and James ends the call by saying "Gotta go, muffins in the oven!"  Brilliant!
