To be more accurate: The 1982 constitution attribues absolutely zero powers to Congress or the Supreme Court to remove a president. So breaching the constitution while arguing one is defending makes as much sense as it will ever make sense.
To be more pertinent than the previous comments: Mel was attempting to perpetuate himself in power for the full period he was elected for. That was the only "Crime" that was demonstrably prevented by the coup.
There was no military coup. Just ask one of the many N. Americans that live in Honduras (like me). The ex-president was removed by the military on orders from Congress due to his illegal actions.
To be accurate: Mel violated the Article 239 of our Constitution, the one that suggests that anybody who worked on the executive power should not stay longer than the stated period.
Mel tried to enlarge himself on the Presidency and hence, break our Democracy, even worst, under the influence of Chavez. People on Zelaya's side are blinded and don't seem to realize that Zelaya's mistake was his own grave.
Fucking coup against democracy and freedom

To dispell any doubt: he was elected for four years. Not three years and five months.
