The Federal Court have ruled that you have a right to videotape anyone on the public way, for there is no expectation of privacy in public. If you're just standing there, out of the way videotaping, then you'er ok. As of today, Sept. 21, the Orange County District Attorney charged 2 of the Peace Officers with "Involuntary Manslaughter, a felony". They could serve 4 years time.

That is when someone sets out and plans to kill another person. They did not. I'm not saying what they did wasn't wrong, it was very wrong, but calling for the death penalty is wrong too. @iamlost2 Being that these officers were familiar with Kelly Thomas (i.e. they had interacted with him before) who is to say that one or more of the cops were not waiting for the chance do him serious harm or eliminate him. I seriously doubt that this was the case but it could be brought up in a trial. .....if there ever is a trial. When these thugs are put on PAID LEAVE of absence; (vacation), usually someone is looking for a rug to sweep the entire incident under. It's called corruption!!

The City of Fullerton is paying $76,000.00 a month to the 6 cops who killed Kelly Thomas to sit at home and drink beer (stay-cation = stay at home vacation).

That's $12,666.00 per month per cop. Multiply that by 12 months and these cops make more than $150,000.00 a year.

Police need to get a summons to take property (due process) if they took a lady's phone, and took her behind a car out of sight by the description of these "cops" you might want to drag the river or go through missing persons to discover her ID. I am surprised the police haven't killed the woman of course, there is something called digital forensics which can recover anything from digital media. The FBI will be interested in that cell phone. Of course, the cops might have chucked the camera into a retention pond.
