  • better save that mic bag comes in handy when you have more than 1 mic.

  • for that stand you have to buy a shock mount... thats why it doesnt fit lol thought the same thing with my stand, but the shock mount will screw right into it

  • this video would have been more helpful without the wack song playing in the background, other than that nice video

  • AUDACITY FTFW

  • Tell me if u need beats

  • audicity sucks, should look into a better program, pro tools or cubase

  • @mynameisrits BUDGET

  • can you say "volume"

  • waste of 30 40 50 60___ 60 bucks lol. thanks for this video bro

  • @phaseTwoo Where did u find that extension cable?

  • I've not got a chance to do it yet (not enough space) but if you wanted to save on your 'styrofoam' the cheap alternative would be to go to a large foodservice distributor (think Sysco or similar) and ask for the purple cardboard pieces they use to separate apples (or pears, avacadoes, etc.). They usually end up with a surplus of these and I've been told they work for free soundproofing.. even seen them stapled everywhere in people's garages so they wouldn't annoy the neighbors+it did the trick!

  • WHAT A STAR....BBBBBBLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAA

  • Why are you dressed like Eazy E

  • Sup Pimpn,Haters Hate Cause They don't Have Much To Do with Their Life, Instead of giving Constructive Feedback they choose to do it the negative way because they need that attention no one really gives them in life, You made it very clear, you mentioned on your comments as well as showed that the mic was not plugged in,you didn't say how to make your mic sound it's best but how to build a simple studio for cheap, not even a super sounding one, they're just fools!.I learned a few tips so G.Looks.

  • can you post a link to all the things we need in the decription?

  • idiot. phase 2?

  • Simply putting up foam will only deaden high frequencies leaving bass frequencies to do as they please. So many people make the mistake of simply putting up foam. Remember, to absorb a frequency, the materials thickness has to be a quarter of the frequency's wavelength.. 100hz wavelength=11 feet do the math.

  • whats your interface called?

  • wow we have the same audio technica mic and laptop haha is the mic (at 2020)?

  • Dude! Where did you get your foam!??

  • @MVPriide you can get it at walmart

  • great ideas as far as the booth but u spent $300 on a condenser mic? thats nowhere near cheap lol its just $200 away from professional. but other than that great vid

  • but hey if u guys need some tips on building a nice studio on a tight budget check out GaragebandandBeyond on youtube some of u may already know him tho...he has crazy vids on home recording studio..o and if u want to buy equipment and ur on a tight budget the most perfect website to order from is sweetwater THE BEST!!! they give you a 3 monthly payment plan. you purchase an item for a discount like 60% off with covers ur first month, they ship it to you then u pay aditional payments

  • DAMNNN..THIS IS REAL LOW BUDGET BUT HEY U GOTTA DO WHAT U GOTTA DO....good job tho..

  • how u got your foam like that how u set it up lol

  • LOL A guy making a video about AUDIO that has no audio. Gee, what will they think of next. Dude, you have more problems than just Iso. GET A MIC THAT WORKs!

  • @4Firearms a guy has a youtube with no videos talking shit to other peoples videos. LOL stfu when u get ur own video. im showing a video to SHOW the mic retardddddd. If not i woulda used the mic duhhhhh. u guys that hate are funny lol.

  • @phaseTwoo Ya gotta admit - the audio is reallyl low up to 1:13 - doesn't add to credibility does it?

  • @RCbeastly why do you gotta be so negative man? The dude's obviously trying to help you out, I personally learned something from this video... seeing as I'm broke as hell, so cut the guy some slack, he did a pretty good job.

  • @chunkyskittles The first rule of audio recording is "Get your levels right". You can't do anything without good audio to start with. I think he should have redone this.

  • @4Firearms g shit this video isnt about if hes talkn with audio or not is about how to build on a budget with what u got numnut.

  • thanx for the post nice set up

  • What kinda foam is u usein?

  • Your cap is eyesore.

  • @rnda456 your youtube is eyesore. =]

  • @carrier2013

Listen, you whiney little prick. I'm bored as hell and I feel like acting like the provocative puertorican man that I am. By the way, I will be trolling the shit out of you with this single message because I want you to be the ignorant, weak willed, unsure dumbass to write back. Soooooo, since we want to talk about the proper use of the word nigger, YOU! THE NIGGER...wouldnt mind me calling youuuuuuuu a nigger as in the proper term, which means: Ignorant. @phaseTwoo...Great vid...

  • @newmoneyflyboyz if i made the video with that mic, i obviously woulda had a cable connected to it. LOL yeah its a wireless microphone ahahaha

  • keep it up, thanks for all the low budget studio tips man.

  • you can get studio monitors for $70 the m audio

  • keep it up... over time you'll build up gear, and get better at using what you have. i've never had a lot of money but after doing this for so long i have tons of stuff! just keep at it and have fun.

  • smh niggas hatin. good sheet brah. check me out

  • did you say 300 dollars for the mic?

  • audacity? cmon bro invest in some great DAW software like cubase at least

  • @ciangitardude Cubase Rocks!!!!

  • If Thats An Audio Technica I Know For A Fact Its Not $95...There Is Not one audio technica mic that is $95 unless you got a deal on the at2020 but that mic he got is a discontinued mic...the 30 series at3035 he spent $300-$350 for that dont hate!

  • straight outta compton.

  • dude you like salim from slumdog millionaire

  • Shii das way too much i had 2 record on a old azz kereyoke machine

  • That mic $95 nigga tryna sound like he got money

  • @JaylinF rotflmao

  • @NewEraKidd0323 i LOLed too after counting your subscribers

  • @phaseTwoo Dont come at me cause yo ass got caught frontin like you paid and shit

  • @JaylinF price drops over the years and i aint saying i got money, thas why i didnt even have monitors at the time smart mouth, =] aha think before you act hard over youtube

  • @phaseTwoo I laughed out loud after looking at your subscribers!

  • @carrier2013 LOl nigguh shut up ahaha. i looked at your update video "mainly cause of my school activities". LOl stfu and talk to me when ur balls drop and u get ur first girlfriend ahahhahahaha/

  • @phaseTwoo Dude, I get straight A's, I'm in the National Honor Society, and I'm going to college in high school. I'm just about 17, so shut up.

  • @carrier2013 and u still have to jack off at ngiht huh? congrtulations on all your achievements, now again, hit me up after u get girlfriend.

  • @phaseTwoo Wow, you're so cool. Because life revolves around having a girlfriend. Kid, you're wearing sunglasses in an artificially lit room. You act like you're black. Why don't you hit me up when you finally realize your ethnicity and age.

  • @carrier2013 ahaha and your cool because ur supposedly smart yet your over here telling me to stop acting black? ahahaha racist ass fuck ahahahahha. way to prove your intelligence by stereotyping what it means to be black, because you would obviously know right genuis? and yeah bitch, im 18 and fucken Mexican. HOW THE FUCK AM I ACTING BLACK MOTHERFUCKER. talk to me when u stop jacking off in your fucken room and bitching to your mom that u want the new nintendo DS. =]

  • @phaseTwoo First of all "nigguh", only black people can say "nigguh" without it being a racist remark. Secondly, stop using smiley faces, this isn't a friendly conversation. Thirdly, I'm Mexican, and I surely don't speak the way you do. If you're 18, you should be able to use proper grammar. Being smart has nothing to do with racism, and I sure as hell am not being a racist, and neither am I one. I said "Quit ACTING black", I didn't say quit being black. You spelled "fucking" wrong, by the way.

  • @carrier2013 =]]]]]

  • @carrier2013 only black people can say nigguh without it being a racist remark? where the fuck ae u from? ohio. cause out here in california we dont consider it a racist remark. swear youre a disgrace to us mexicans bruh. youre acting like if youre the shit then why are you even looking on my page? and i can use proper grammar. but why should i?because your dumbass wants me too? uhhh no. no i spelled fucken the way i wanna spell FUCKEN. and same shit nigguh,

  • @carrier2013 u said quit acting black, so youre stereotyping that black people are a certain way? not racist at all

  • @carrier2013 If you're so busy with your school activities and being the smartest most amazing guy in the world or whatever the hell you call it, not to mention maintaining a YouTube channel, why the hell are you trolling other people's videos? It just makes you look like an ignorant, immature dumbass. Why not work on your OWN videos, and try to make them superior to this guys if you have an issue with his subscribers and quality of the videos?

  • @carrier2013 And STFU with the "I'm not racist" argument you're making. You told him to stop acting black, which explicitly reveals that you believe black people should act a certain way. Learn how to fucking troll without using racially charged insults you racist prick. There are times to just stop and admit you were wrong.

  • @fochoa93 No, I'm actually right. Haven't you ever noticed that it is socially acceptable for an African American to refer to another as "nigger"? But it's not okay for a white person or any other race to refer to them by that name. In this situation, he believes it's okay for him to use that racial term, therefore making me right, because he thinks that he is black. It is not okay for a Mexican to refer to a black person as that, like a Puertorican wouldn't like me to call him a porch monkey.

  • @carrier2013 lol youre not from Cali bruh. Over here we dont consider nigga a racist remark. its like calling someone a friend or a brother. you can call me ignorant for that or whatever you want. BUT WE consider it breaking down barriers and joining together cause WE ARE BETTER than that to allow simple words to take us down. and i dont think im black nor did i once say i was. youre really just making yourself sound stupider with every comment you make so please shut up dawg.

  • @phaseTwoo I may not consider it bad, but it doesn't matter, I'm not black, so I can't make that decision to say that it's offending or not. I don't sound stupid. I'm right, if you aren't the race that you're offending, then you have no reason to say it's okay.

  • @carrier2013 and who are you to say im offending them? from everyone who lives in MY AREA. you kno the area that i care about. not ohio or iowa whereever youre at. we use it as a way to refer to one another. SORRY that our state isnt as racist as yours is. so just shut the fuck up nigguh ahahahahahahahhahahaha

  • @phaseTwoo Hate to tell you, dumbass, YouTube is a WORLDWIDE website, not restricted to California. So just shut the fuck up and watch your damn racist language.

  • @carrier2013 youre the racist assuming that black people are a certain way nigguhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so stfu and go suck some dick or something you son of a bitch nigguh =]]]]]]]]]]]]] =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =]]]]]

  • @JaylinF LOL some peeps lunch cost more than his mike lol.

  • @JaylinF tryin to sound like he has money?!? he keeps talking repeatedly about doing it on a budget while he shows us his home made booth with foam pin with tacks!. i don't sense an ounce of pretentiousness from this guy... he's being real. humble. talent doesn't require money....

but then you might just be joking around hahahah in which case excuse me. :)

  • @caseyforever what im showing is how everything is cheap but it gets the job done, if i was aiming for a real studio i sure wouldnt put on abudget. im not tryna sound like i got money cause i dont. if i did, id be a rich kid spending cash every where instead of looking for a career rapping or tryna help other nigguhs out. but its whatever 34 people forsure liked this, 6 didnt. some people just dont got better things then to act hard over the internet. but thank you for explaining to them

  • where did you buy the foam

  • i dont hear a fuckin thing. and you do look like eazy e.

  • This cat looks like easy e

  • yo what is the foam called.. like is there a specific name for it?

  • @dbdakid Studio Foam

  • use mixcraft. forget that audacity

  • I love the audacity software

Been using it for about a year for everything from solo crap and beats to mixing demos for my band, no dissappointments with it

    And its free!

  • @FiSTFigHT09 I meant without proper bass trapping. most acoustic foam does a good job of absorbing high frequencies, but does little to nothing to tame bass issues.

As far as noise getting into your booth, that's more of an isolation issue. That's a far more intense and expensive proposition. Unless you're prepared to build some additional walls in your house, you're just going to have to settle for recording when the house is quiet.

  • this might sound like a off topic question....but where u get that desk

  • I have that same mic I def recommend it..... There's a big problem, you booth is too small.... You had the idea with the stiro before the foam but there are no acoustics in your booth.... everything recrded in there will be muffled and high frequencies will crash into each other give you a horrible sound.... Good try though.... Apply those same techniques to a bigger closet or room and you will nail it.... Much props though cuz you have the foaming wall idea on point

  • Comment removed

  • can you use any foam?such as a memory foam bed topper?

  • Does That Kind Of Foam really Work ?

  • @TheParadiceMusic Only on higher frequencies. It's not dense enough to deal with low-mids and lows.

  • @thatgtrguy do you know how to attack those low frequencies?

  • @FiSTFigHT09 Owens Corning 705. 4 to 6 inches think in every corner.

  • @swilder168 Isn't that mostly for the ambience inside the mixing room? Or is it also applicable to where one records the vocals?

  • @FiSTFigHT09 Applies to the vocal booth as well. Especially small closets. Bass as well as the lower mid freqs build up in corners. And where are mics usually placed in a small booth? in the corner!!

So while you have a nice and dead booth. The mic isn't really recording your voice accurately, It's actually recording your voice PLUS the bass build up that's happening in the booth.

  • @swilder168 you lost me a bit where you said "The mic isn't really recording your voice accurately, It's actually recording your voice PLUS the bass build up that's happening in the booth." did you mean without the bass traps or with them? I really appreciate your answers. I'm building my own recording booth its decent 6'x4'x8' and noise seems to keep getting in and i cant manage to prevent it, and it sucks b/c i can hear when the door leading in2 my garage closes, n i take those are vibrations

  • @FiSTFigHT09 so when i first built this i was beginning and needed something to back me up that was cheap, ive improved it over time, for example i got krk's, mxing board, midi keyboard and different foam but the foam cost more. im actually leaving it that way until i leave to college tho where a walk in closet will be used as the booth. until then im dealing with the booth as is but removing some of the foam and adding a reflection filter. thank you for all the info from all you though.

  • @swilder168 That's what a bit of eq and experimenting is for... heh heh.. Who cares about bass build up?.. you prep your track with the proper plug-ins and you're good... the most you need to look out for is reflection and natural reverbs your going to get from an untreated room. Bass isn't that difficult to eliminate.

  • sup i just started recording myself. i'm an amateur producer and recording engineer, i have artists make records at my place

ur setup is very similar to mine, cept i record vocals in my control room, don't have a booth yet.. i use a focusrite saffire pro 24 dsp interface, at-4060 condenser, ath-m50 headphones, dell laptop with a firewire expresscard, and fl studio as my daw (people hate on FL, but it works).

and last but not least, i listen to drake too lol.. keep updating ur progress on utube

  • can i buy that mic stand off you

  • @cngallday yeshhhh.

  • @phaseTwoo The foam isn't suppose to go everywhere especially in a small room because you're cutting off some of dynamics that are extremely hard to get back and needed to get your vocals to sounds more extravagant. But either way good job its better then nothing. How good does that presonus work for u?

  • @FiSTFigHT09 It's a catch 22. This booth is so small that if you leave whatever you leave untreated with result in flutter echoes. Probably the better solution is record vocals in the bigger room.

  • ..aWwW wAt Ma KaRnAL... GLad yU dOyN yUR THaNg.. MUcH lOVe tU KarNALiTa..

  • what r u usin that needs to transmit faster than usb i use lots of controlers nd dont have any prob i rekon if on a budget dont bother with the firewire a good soundcard wud be a better buy

  • @zaccazsneddon When I tested the two out, I noticed that the timing lags slightly but enough to b a difference. I prefer FireWire because it's about 100 dollars more but it really does come out being slightly higherquality in the end

  • u had a pretty good setup bro , the booth looks clean for a homemade vocal booth

  • what is this fire wire your talkin bout in the 1st coupla minutes?

  • @mcRioRemedy it's like USB except way faster. All Macs have a FireWire ports but not all PCs do so you may need to buy a card adapter. But yeaa it's pretty much Transmits data faster than USB making it much more expensive but much more reliable as well. Get it? Subscribe homie :]

  • @ItsKnucklez - maybe so but ive heard a lot of famous pros in the hip hop game use REASON, its amazin

  • smh why r u recording on audacity

  • @fcukupayme93 I only used it on the video to show people that there are programs out there that r free nd easy to use since it is a cheap vocal booth video. Get what I mean? I usually go with cubase since it does it all but now I'm learning reason nd record from propellerhead.

  • @phaseTwoo

if you know how to use cubase, stick with that.

no need to learn how to use reason.

  • @flip18o Yea I just wanna learn reason cuz everyone says Record is insane!! So I need to See if it is or nottttt

  • @phaseTwoo

    cubase better!

    trust me man.

  • More vocal booth, less about everything else.

  • nice crook jacket lol.

  • i think you need to do a lil more research...but good video nonetheless

    bless

  • hahah wow wey
