Empathy is thinking about how somebody else might feel. This point goes over Rex's head because he does not understand empathy, which makes him a sociopath. This makes him very scary and we need to get him out as soon as possible.
Rex should try and not get into confrontations with Mikey because he ends uo looking like an idiot. Mikey said what he wanted to say succinctly, Rex bullied - talking loud, not stopping for the other person to say anything, twisting words. All the tools of a bully and he still ended up looking silly.
