  • Love it! Thanks for the post! : )

  • IS THAT HER REAL NOSE OR MICHAEL JACKSONS?

  • I love this, they`re so cute and the song`s cathing :-)

  • What's not to like about this? Thanks for putting it up.

  • How could you not hit the triangle 3 times at :17?

  • OK, all that talent in one place just gave me an aneurism! I love Bobbie SO much for the delicious feast of music she's given us.

  • great, absolutely great, cheered me up no end

  • Was this not a BBC tv show, not an American tv show.

  • Where's Bobby and Bert ? Give Johnny Horton's copy a listen on this song another great job..

  • Cool as hell.....and how tastefully done! I love the HOllies

  • There's something wrong with the lens on this video! Bobbie Gentry is a knockout, but her nose looks like the one on the Wicked Witch from Oz. Something about taking tv footage and putting it on film is distorting her pretty face.

  • She's a groovy country girl, I love her :-)

  • Yes, this is a fine rendition from an unlikely 'quartet'. Then you look around YT and realize that all the renditions are fine. Then it dawns on you that, hey this is just a great song, a super slice of Americana from a great, great musician and electrifying performer!

  • A great hit for Doug Kershaw, the Crazy Cajun.

  • Sweet adorable Americana from some big talents. Indulgent but irresistible.

  • this group wasn't any good until they changed their name to CSN,Y (hee hee)

  • WHat rare TV show is this from? I have never seen this clip anywhere before

  • Doug Kershaw tears this Up , Check hIm ...Yes she was,...

  • this was just too cute, kind of funny watching the guys read the words off cards or whatever they used back in those days. the version of this song I love is Doug Kershaw, wild man lol

  • Bobbie had a killer body.

  • OMG! So awesome to see her and the Hollies!

  • god... i turned 26 less than 24 hours ago.... why do i still find this woman so attractive? as far as age goes I must be her biggest fan... from ode to billy joe to fancy... this chick has never ceased to impress me... and god she was sexy for her time!!! I LOVE BOBBIE GENTRY!!!!

  • Bobbie is such a confident singer and performer

  • Can you imagine Bobbie singing Morning Glory to you! I have!

  • @notbatman1000 nice image - be nice for me if she were bi

  • Mississippi Delta is the greatest album ever made! I've got 2 copies! Sexiest voice ever! I've been in love with Bobbie since I was 13.

  • what an unusual little number and dance they did. They sound great together. I always loved Bobbie Gentry, ran into her not too long ago in LA. She's still beautiful as ever.

  • @eckankar I don't know if you actually know Bobbie but The Mississippi Musicans HOF has been trying to find a way to send Bobbie her induction plack. They are not even sure she is aware of her 2008 induction.

  • Far fucking beautiful. A sghame the Hollies fell apart, but then again we got CSNand Young.

  • Great song, 'The Pozo Seco Singers' have a great rendition of this also.

  • tony hicks 1:04

  • Really need somebody banging on a triangle for a Cajun number. I am assuming that this is from the BBC show Bobby did- I watched it as a teenager- they probably didn't have one! As for The Hollies- they're not in fancy dress- that was the standard pop star garb of the time- see Cliff singing "Congratulations" for more scary stuff! Then Lennon went all freaky, so dressing down (and dirty) became all the rage! I imagine on her albums she had Joe Osborne & James Burton playing- Louisiana Men-in LA!

  • The Hollies are heading to the Rock & Roll in 2010 ... what took'em so long.

  • Were they copying The Seekers?

The Seekers also sang this song.

  • This was the second single off Bobbie's album' The Delta Sweete'. The first, Oklahona River Bottom Band was self penned and went #54 pop and top forty a.c. This was a cover of the Doug Kershaw classic that also hit the pop hot 100 for Bobbie.

  • This is so endearing! The Hollies and Bobby Gentry-artists I admire so very much on the same stage! Thanks for posting this rare gem! :)

Gentry's "Ode to Billie Joe" gave me chills as a child-still does.

  • Har har har at 0:20. I always knew that Alan Clarke was a virtuoso tambourine rattler but had no idea that he also played the triangle. Now that's what I call versatility.

  • WTF? Not exactly CSNY are they? Only a 60's variety show makes this kind of Fish & Chips & Grits, possible. Nevertheless, Alan Clarke is a great singer & when it came to sugar babes, Bobbie Gentry was the real deal.

  • Bobbie Gentry was far more than easy on the eyes. Her Ode to BillieJoe has been covered over 200 times and sold forty million records. Her other classic song ,Fancy now has twenty covers. How many female artists were writing and producing their own songs in the 1960's?

  • the only thing this has in common with csny is nash's harmonies

  • She was a bonafide hottie. A natural beauty.

  • So gorgeous...

  • great to see anothr of bobbies hard to find videos

  • Hahahahaha

  • brilliant !!

  • brill

  • Great! Thanks for sharing this. I love Bobbie Gentry.

  • Check out Bobbie Gentry's You Tube duet of ' There Is A Mountain' with Donovan from her BBC variety show too. Her show had a four year run1968-71. It was syndicated all over Europe and even to Hong Kong. It was still in re-runs in the late1980's. This savy lady even produced the show with her own company, Gentry Ltd. This grammy winner was writing, producing and publishing her own songs in the 1960's. A true trailblazer for women gaining controll of their own careers.

  • The Mancunians have a ball in true American variety TV show tradition. Miss Gentry must have taken an innocent shine to the charming Mr. Nash...

    Thank you!

  • I think her shine was definitely reciprocated, lol. Graham certainly appears to be enjoying himself with Bobbie. I think they're pretty cute together :)

  • this waz a BBC show made in london

  • @ItsAllAboutNash this was from a show made by the BBC

  • Beautiful Bobbie always had her dance card filled. She dated, among others,Bobby Darin and the King, Elvis.

  • Shes so lucky, theyre so hot

  • Very very cute...! And great harmony.

    I love it!!

  • PERFECT!...thank you....

  • This looks like a clip from Bobbie Gentry's BBC variety show. I Hope it is put out on dvd. She was great and had great guests. She even introduced James Taylor to the world on her show.

  • That triangle bit was cute! I loved the way Allan smiled when he did that. Bobbie Gentry was one lucky lady to have three handsome, talented men singing with her. Thanks again, Alex!
