It's always a really good idea to have a spare car just in case. I picked one up at an estate sale for just a bit more than what the last repair on my other car cost...
Then while you're driving the spare car you can get the repairs done at your leisure, and if it ends up being a super big expensive repair leave the car there and find another cheap one to be your spare car...
nothing worse than a slipping trans, the not moving bit sounds like a lack of fluid, depending on the car some are really sensitive! My AUIII Futura was 200ml out when i blew a trans cooler hose and i had to start it, sit it in drive for 5-10 mins to let it circulate before it would move!! Regular trans services every 12 months or 20,000km is the way to go! its less than 200 bucks, and when an auto trans in big cars is usually 3-4grand for a recon, its cheap!
I am glad you posted this. I am having one of those days. Up against the elements. The silver lining is that at least when I have these days I know they'll get better. At least your day ended with the fabulous Sam :)
That sucks when your car won't work. I know the anxiety level goes way up. You have to be careful with mechanic's these day's...., they're right up there with dentists , always trying to suck the money out of ya.
HAHAHAHAHAHA merry fucking christmas HAHAHAHAHAA

My auto died on me after slipping and sometimes not moving at all for about six months.
To get the car fixed was going to cost 700
and that was a second hand auto trans put in.
I ended up buying a second hand auto and doing it myself. 250 bucks.
I had work to do so it took me two weeks to fix the bastard .
Nothing worse than losing your car.
australianews 2 years ago
RAA $115
Towing $100
2nd hand Fuel Pump $140
Auto Electr. $66
2nd hand computer for car $180
Labour $40 - must have got a booby discount, or maybe they were scared I would go postal!
