  • you're a pretty damn AMAZING tutorial instructor! You know how to explain things so simply for "dummies" like me! Thank you!!!! =)

  • You should become my graphic design teacher :(

You're explaining it so much better, and it isn't even boring

  • you should get 3,000 m*****f****n' kudos for this one

  • That was so helpful! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • I can't seem to manage the first step the one with holding down the Alt+Shift keys to double the shape of the spiral. When I release the keys the whole spiral just jumps back to its original form. I don't have that double-line shaped spiral. What am I doing wrong? Could please tell me?

  • @Nojcsi87 Let go of the mouse button before the keys, that should do the trick if you're doing what I think you are.

  • Cool!

  • thanks u :D , verry useful

  • verry usefull , due

    thanks u :D

  • I like your tutorial. The only thing I need to tell you is the action you took at 17:30 which was you copied the object without merging it as two pieces. That caused the copied object different than the original. You could get a similar shapes If you merged the original first and copy it and than color it. Thanks. I am going to watch your other videos.

  • Bored of drawing paths?

Bored of tracing logos u cant find on the internet?

Heres a program u will enjoy!

Vector Magic 1.8 desktop edition for mac and windows

The program lets you convert bitmap images to realistic paths you can open in illustrator!

Take a look, the download links are in the discription, just go to my channel!

    Greets

  • @BeutenLB it's called live trace. you lose sir.

  • @GarlandFraser I lose? U just dont get the point. i just posted my comment to random illustrator vids, cuz i know its a very handy tool for people who are in the graphical industry, like me, where u dont have time to spend 10 minutes drawing some swirls.

For example, ur making a website and u need the logo of the company but u can only find some low resolution images...

drag and drop it into vector magic and u have a high quality vector.

    Next time think twice.

  • @BeutenLB I don't know what Vector Magic is, but I do know that the Live Trace function on Illustrator does exactly what you just described, so keep your advertisements to yourself.

  • @GarlandFraser Omg are u an idiot? do u even live on planet earth?

Why would i have to keep my program for myself?? Read dude, READ!

It helps people who CAN work with illustrator but just want to save time.

And the reason u dont know about the program means ur just a guy who thinks he can work with illustrator by following some tutorials on youtube....

    I already have 42 downloads...so i would calm down

  • @BeutenLB ....Live Trace....your program is useless to illustrator users.

  • @GarlandFraser Ye ur right, the programmers of vector magic just wanted to add something called document.ai because it looks cool.

Look i will try to explain it one more time. It isnt as powerfull as illustrator and you cant compare it with the live trace. But the program helps professionals to work alot more faster.

I hope u finally understand how illustrator and vector magic can be COMBINED

  • @BeutenLB but you aren't explaining anything about how it works! You're probably the only spam advertiser that bothered to reply to a negative comment. You people are the scum of society.

I've said it 4 times, and I'll say it once more. Live trace allows the instant vectorization of any imported image. The people watching this tutorial have no need of your bastard hardware. It's probably a virus in disguise, or a get rich quick scheme.

  • @BeutenLB proffesionals would not use it. Amateurs who DON'T have Illustrator would.

  • @GarlandFraser Oh ye right i dont have illustrator...? dude im a guy who makes logos and billboards for companies.

But im not gonna try to explain it again to a guy who thinks he can work with illustrator because he followed some tutorials.

And btw i never said YOU have to download it, only people who can work on a proper way with illustrator, photoshop and indesign will see what vector magic offers,

But i quess u dont even know how to use those 3 programs

  • @BeutenLB Hmm, let's see.... I use the entire Adobe suite to its full effect... I go to a prestigious art and design college in Nova Scotia, and have been doing design work for major companies like the Halifax waterfront development corporation.

you sir, are a con-artist. begone with your bastard software, come back and call yourself an amateur when you know how to use Rhino or zee-brush.

  • @GarlandFraser ur one boring child....

  • @BeutenLB lol you fail good day sir. (P.S. no noe download his program, it's a virus.)

  • @GarlandFraser God...if i wanted to send a virus i would do it with a way higher rated program you idiot, like windows 7 or something. Please i beg you, use your brains for one time when ur trying to diss me.

( PS this was last message to you, so i dont care if u download it or not)

    So fack off

  • I love it when he says Tangent Handle.

  • i have a question.. i must have misunderstood sg at some point because after i create the swooshes from the circle and merge them the expand appearance option remains grey for me, so i cannot click on it, which means i cannot change the colour of the object:( could sy pls tell me what i am doing wrong?

the tutorial is great. thank you so much for uploading it.

  • i love you

  • I'm learning so much from this video. Thank you!

  • swoosh

  • AWESOME JOB! YOU ARE FAST AND EASY TO FOLLOW! ; )

  • Excellent tutorial! I'm a strong Photoshop user, but have never been able to get a good handle on Illustrator, no matter how hard I try. FINALLY, I think I learned more in this short video than I've learned wading through tons of books! Thanks for the jumpstart! Maybe I can finally start making some headway...

  • @GuttedAtBirth very expensive, a few hundred dollars
