I looks like yours has the plug-in Phillips cartridge. Mine has the standard wire hookup with a "generic" screw-in cartrige. Right now it has a Grado cartridge in it.
The switch adjusts the anti-skating compensation of the stylus. Normally you set the anti-skating to the same as the tracking force of the stylus (typically around 2 to 3 grams).
The type of cartridge you needs depending on which slide-in insert you have. One was designed to accept a proprietary plug-in Philips cartridges, and the other was designed to accept standard screw-mount cartridges; hopefully you have the latter. Either way the black insert slides out, to easily install the cartridge.
thats a really nice turntable..fairly high end..looks like the headshell has a slide in cartridge similar to some Dual tt. Let me check around and see what I can come up with. It will definetly take a magnetic cartridge
thank you for the comment. if you do find a cartridge to fix this about how much would it cost me? just curios. i have some disco, and some elvis, glen miller, three dog night and more im waiting to play on it. if not ill have to get my moms old sterio from my grandmas its a panosonic turntable/ 8track/ sterio tuner all in one. thing hasent been used in ages.
Do you or does anyone know how to replace the belt for this turntable.
The lid comes off easy but after that ive no idea
