It's good that you have presented this introduction to Weimar culture, however the narrative is rather superficial and at times misleading. For example, The Bauhaus did not "bring De Stijl to the world" - De Stijl was a DUTCH movement, exposed to the Weimar Bauhaus by founder Theo Van Doesburg and it was he, along with the Russian Constructivist El Lissitsky and Hungarian Lazslo Maholy Nagy that eventually prevailed over the Expressionistic mysticism of Johannes Itten.

The Weimar Republic was an oppressed state. Sincerely, why did it have to be tortured by the gigantic debt bubble and the Ruhr occupation (as the sum for reparations surpassed the industrial capacity which had been deliberatelu shut down)?

Then, when the Nazis took over, they were (and it was known that they were not democratiic) funded and allowed even to violate the peace terms of Versailles.

Explain this paradox.
