Wow. How hard is it to put something nice in the comment box? I grew up listening to these guys....yes, I am older but I do know what is good. This song was and still is a good song. This song can inspire good feelings which is what it was meant to do. I love it!
@jjsassenach1 Thanks. I just had to say something because there is always so much negative feedback in the comment boxes. I adore the Bellamy Brothers!
All you idiot naysayers about the audience don't know squat about their culture - they listen to the music and show their appreciation after the tune is played - NOT DURING IT- as you do over here. Next concert you go to, shut the fuck up and listen - I don't want to hear your BS while I paid to hear a band/group in concert - not you and your incompetent noise. Try a Stones concert in Germany - yeah - Frankfurt 1970 - I was there
I was a teenager when this song was popular and had a crush on the bass player in a cover band who did played this song. This song always takes me back to that teenage crush.
what the hell were these guys doin in germany! its obvious they dont have one single fan there in this crowd.. german youth went crazy 4 hitler & the beatles, no thats not a band name..
This song has a powerful message, a strong delivery, & the walking bass player adds so much to the total sound.. I like it a lot so I'll add it to my favs..GREAT job !
Is that true? this song use by Levis jeans for music theme for Levis advertising on tv, i am remember maybe in late 1970(76,77,78,79), i saw on black and white tv, Levis jeans and with this song.

Respect to these performers, who could really sing live and get their groove on despite an audience of the dead. I would not be able to sit still, just like right now while listening to them.
This is a great old song and it brings back great memories! I think Americans don't realize that this same song was a hit in Germany about 30 years ago under a different name (with different lyrics). The Germans know this song as "Ein Bett im Kornfeld" by Jurgen Drews. So probably this audience was being polite but a little mystified by the Bellamy Brothers.
Ft metal. This is music at it's best with the welcome additon of handle bar moustaches and flared trousers >:-D This coming from a 17 year old who also love MCR xD
German TV in the 1970s and you wonder why the crowd looks sedated or dead? Surely yours is a rhetorical question. Have you no sense of history, sir? At long last, have you no sense of history?
i remember this song from a levi's add in the mid 70s,i so wanted to have levi's and be as cool as the guys on tv. and have the girl's attention like they had..
Once again, a German audience in the 70's, shot during a live performance, looks bored and agitated. WTF! Maybe they don't know the lyrics? They kinda make the song....
At 1:56 the crowd looks like they want to be anywhere but there. Must have been weird playing in front of such a lifeless bunch. Those damn Germans (sarcastic).
Takes me right back to high school, cut off shorts, tank top, flip flops and no worries. . . Football games, swim meets, wrestling matches, Friday nights cruising in the hotest car in town. We were happy, carefree, most of us through community service made a difference in the world, and by all standards today so innocent that makes me even wonder why the hell my parents worried!
@TheAmy3338 Neither...they're German...They are as dry as the Brits, except when it comes to soccer games. I think when you are German and you are born in a hospital, they feed you not mother's milk, but Xanax that stays in their bodies the rest of their lives!
@Der05er - have you ever watched Top of the Pops from the same period? The audience were similarly lifeless, even when dancing - and they were (presumably) English.
