Well shit man nice rig. However this is a non-fanboy suggestion.

Use an AMD CPU. Its rumored that an AMD GPU runs a faster if it uses an AMD CPU. This is probably true because they are both from the same company so there would be some technology love between the two.

Actually, the companies have made their products to run better

on certain chipsets. Nvidia cards WILL run better with intel proccesors

and ATI cards WILL run better with AMD proccesors. Also note

that the "better" is not 50% or 25% more efficiency but

the "better" is about 5% to 10%. Maybe even less. ATI is a branch of AMD.

They started it, and then, Nvidia did the same with Intel.

It's all a way of each company the buy their products.

im pretty sure this could run on a 1000 watt psu cause linux tech teps did a review to see how much watts a 4 way sli 480gtx and it was maxing out on 987 and the 5870 uses less watts than the 480 gtx

@robiniroven To my understanding, you can't put HD 5970s in 4-way crossfire. Only 2, as it's a dual-GPU card. At that, 4 5870s and 2 5970s perform similarly. 4 5870s is a bit faster.

You need to overclock all of them then put waterblocks on them, THEN you have a sweet ass benchmark. You can even adjust voltage very easily with the new cards so the overclocking would be awesome if you watercooled them.
