you had it down to -9 Celsius or Fahrenheit? -9 Celsius is just average winter temps here in North Carolina. I see below 0F quite often in winter on the mountains, and I am trying to figure out if the downmat would be good for me.
This is probably good for cold weather, but for summer/spring conditions, I've used a $2.50 inflatable single person pool flotation device. I bought the style with the smooth plastic-"ey" surface so i could repair leaks with a simple piece of electrical tape. Ive repaired a couple leaks so far. The bite valves for filling take to long so i cut them out and replaced them with a pop bottle top and glued them in place with some Shoe goo. They work great for 2.50 and insulate just fine.
really enjoyed this video sean, can i just ask how tall are you and which size have you got in this video? im 6ft 2 and im wondering if i can get away without needing the dlx. really good review and i will definatley be getting one.
tho this air mat may be good for cold weather but remember that moving air gets cold and when your'e body heats the air and the ground cools it down it will start to move.
So buying a cheap air mat for cold weathers is no good.
5 stars. Buy cheap buy twice. Know lots of folks who have bought the wrong gear and then not continued because they did not have good experiences. Cheers
Looks like a pretty nice mattress. Good video as always.
I tend to prefer plain foam non-inflating mats, myself. I like the simplicity of just unrolling them and being good to go, without worrying about inflating. Same goes for packing them up. And a foam pad wont have an air valve break, or a hole tear into it, or anything like that. They're great if you can deal with the lack of comfort! =)
Great vid, just wondering which mat to go for as I have got a snugpak stratosphere and elite 4 sleeping bag.
Will be doing a lot of winter wild camping as well as all the other seasons.
I'm in the U.K. So is it worth getting something like what you have or would something cheaper be ok.

@MrWobii
I dont think mine is the dlx. I use this in the DD Hammock with no issues.

@MrWobii The DLX/Long-Wide is what you want for a hammock because it will wrap around your shoulders a bit. Use it 1/3 to 1/2 inflated.

-9c. We dont get really cold winters in the south west of England. I need to try it in Scotland in the winter. There it often gets to -15c.

Im only 5ft 6in. I have plenty of space for me. Will have to measure the mat and get back to you on its length.

Nice review! 5*! I may see if I can find one of those here in the US. (that is if I can talk myself into changing from my old military foam pad!)
Well done!

Thats a nice inflation/deflation system.
Seems to work well.

Nice video man. I have a similar mat made by Big Agnes. It is filled by mouth. Can't remember the insulation used but it's pretty good.
Nice hat also. You have plenty of tinder on it if needed. LOL
Thank you
