Ever since man came in to existance he has always tried to comprehend the greatness of allah but failed ttim and time again. In that failiure alone exists the greatness of allah. This Qawali is the best ive ever had the pleasure of listening to and the only person worthy of its performance is the one and only Khan saab.
i absolutly love the last lines..its amazing how great people n poets ask n think about all these quetions n mysteries n point out the complexity of Allah..yet in the end they believe that "There is no God but Allah"...its remarkable..and its amazing..faith is the thing that keeps us strong..i love that this poem ends in Allah Ho..indeed Allah Ho Allah Ho Allah Ho..yes He is complex..but he also gave us the best thing , which is called brain..and surely we can understand Him..someday!
This should be the end of the world now. Blaming Allah for all of your own dirt?? This should be a lesson for whom who doesn't understand Quraan. See how far shetaan can go.
sorry for what the poet, singers and all the appreciators are going to receive as their reward after their death. O Allah! forgive them and us.
@midreesq are you stupid?! this is EXACTLY why people dont try and think... you actually think he's doing it to blame Allah?! it's a SELF REFLECTION!!!! HE'S TRYING TO UNDERSTAND ALLAH BETTER! it's Called FIKR in arabic... if you're familiar with the Quran, you'd know we've been ask to FIKR, meaning GIVE THOUGHT... don't judge a book by it's cover, try and understand the deep meaning...
Very good effort man.. translation and video..Thums up...I cant stop tears on last part..such a beautiful relation bewteen me and my Allah..Subhanallah..I love you my God you are beautiful and praise worthy..coz you have always been soooo kind to me...
I am speechless. The translation adds so much more to the qawali (for those of us who are brought up in the UK and don't know urdu that well). Just goes to show that despite all the fighting and bickering, deep down, we ALL know that there is only one God. how can there possibly be more than one? As for Ustad Jis music? No words are good enough to praise him... what a blessing to mankind. Please post more translations

@pelitsnake ... yes.. or the You could also be Self.. or the state of Human Being...lol thats the riddle.. is there any difference ... no ... all "pronouns" are false.. for all is One.. ;)
The preceding comment I posted was written before watching this complete video. I must say that this is the first time I've really heard Nusrat explicitly mention about an incomplete self, one who deals explicitly in the finite, while the other in the infinite. The amalgam of the two is the complete self, credit to Kierkegaard.
To have faith, which in objective terms is blind and stupid, causes a great deal of internal consternation. To have faith one can't think in objective terms, I think.
You know, I feel that sometimes there is a forced push towards having faith.
I haven't hit a personal rock bottom, where I will forced to acknowledge that for god anything is possible, and that my only obligation at this point is to have faith.
Kierkegaard makes a good point of stating that, in "The Sickness Unto Death". To be critical of Nusrat, I would say that he contemplates in the infinite too much. Yet, his staunch faith in Allah, is something I contemplate too often myself.
thank you for posting these magnificent words, for me its added a whole new dimension to Nusrat's music which i already loved but couldnt fully appreciate.

I wish the Muslims learn the meaning of this and learn the tolerance that is mentioned in their religion. Islam is a beautiful religion but amongst the highly misunderstood ones.
Hi Pelit Snake,Kindly get the translation for the other two parts as well. I was feeling so awesome when I went through this translation bit,and it would be a pleasure, if you could get the translation for the other two parts as well. Kindly get the same Pelitsnake, plz.
This world really needs the hold of a religion like Islam cause without it the world will be a hell.Cause with it people still deny and break the rules and commit terrorism i will not blame only muslims even westerns have a big part in it.
Very thought provoking. I was shocked that he discussed conceot of "dwait-Adavit out of Hinduism, some verses sounded like verses of Bhagvad Heeta. I gues God is great. We just don't try to understand God or ech other.
In South Asia, Sufi tradition were very strong in past, unfortunately in recent years it is increasingly being replaced by more sort of imposed version of religion and interpretation of religious idea. I guess we need to presevre and cherish such traditions.

Of course every performance of Ustad ji is spellbinding and so is this. I must mention tat you have done a brilliant job of translating mate; Although there are some minor slipups I think it is definitely "more-than-satisfactory". Well done!
