  • ............Pink Floyd is my life.......

  • I think more people should appreciate the orchestration that Michael Kamen brought to this album, it's AMAZING and compliments the songs so much...

  • any song can make your day

PF songs makes your whole life

  • I was lucky to see them alive twice, and i want to see them more often when they come to cleveland, ohio. hopefully this summer 2012 before world end. hhhhhh

I love you pink floyd all

  • this is the true music and true meaning. never get tired of pink floyd are the best in the world.

  • This song, man...... well I figure you guys know what I mean

  • Just life... not an illusion^^

  • Can't get enough of this?Check out Amused to Death.Just as good.Cheers

  • This is incredibly sad.. too much really, and so beautiful

  • It always amazes me that Roger was willing to expose his deepest emotions in his art. We ALL benefit. Thanks Roger.

  • I wonder if coldplay got inspiration from this track?

  • I'd love to see/hear Waters peform this song live..

  • One of the best PF albums, I love the fact that I haven't heard each song a million times on the radio.

  • love pink

  • Can never get enough of this song.

  • This is probably Waters at his most naked... It doesn't get worse than suicide.

  • One of my all-time favorite tracks... talk about pouring your heart out!

I personally don't get why this song wasn't on the wall though?! as is my understanding this was one of the wall tracks that got left out.. I always like to imagine how beautiful a conclusion this would have been following " the trial"..

  • @PringDaddyPring i thought this whole album was a sequel of sorts to The Wall?

  • @harprockin420

Yes you're right, the problem was the other members didn't see the commercial value.. It was too authentic if you can call it so, not sale-able.. Sad enough, because in my opinion it's totally brilliant.. Greetz..

  • happy birth day roger

  • Tears flowing....love this album.

  • Desperate, passionate, incredible.

  • this is more than just music and film

  • Best album in the history, i agree.

  • Who change Dr?

  • The video is change in 2min.17 sec.. The man than touch his eye. A new version...

  • Waters and Gilmour can never be friends, its just chemistry too strong for them to be friends, if you put them on a small desert island together, Gilmour would wait for Roger to fall asleep, then he would smash his head in with a rock, thats how bad it is .

  • The Final Cut is great

  • It is really too bad these guys could not find away to coexist and write more music together!! Just imagine all the great music we have missed

  • Roger Waters "IS" a Humanitarian Genius! If only we could all "Wake-Up!" and understand what this artist is truly saying in all his lyrics! We could come together as on: and change the world forever!

wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot).com and understand who is actually manipulating everything!

  • I agree it is the best album ever.. But they are all great!!! I love Floyd

  • song of my life! :)

  • If you've ever suffered a painful separation, there is no other song that can shake your emotions up more than this epic.

  • i also had from piper at gates to the works final cut was awesome, i liked the non commercial stuff dark side, wall was okay but, wow atom heart mother and oma guma and meddle and obscured by clouds, were so awesome, relics was pretty good also. live at Pompeii good love ste controls for heart of sun, meant sacer full of secrets.

  • i also had from piper at gates to the works final cut was awesome, i liked the non commercial stuff dark side, wall was okay but, wow atom heart mother and oma guma and meddle and obscured by clouds, were so awesome, relics was pretty good also. live at Pompeii good love ste controls for heart of sun,

  • Roger Waters has complete control over my emotions and this album exemplifies that more than any other. I get tears in my eyes every time I listen to this song. Its absolutely brilliant. The pure pain in Waters ' voice followed by Gilmour's meoldic solos is almost too much for me. God do I love Floyd!

  • pure shivers and goosebumps

  • The album was Floyd's Let It Be. But it's Waters giving it everything he could find in every last corner, because he was essentially working alone.

I always listened to it and never found a fault with a single second of it. It's so painful it can't be anything but pure. It has Gilmour finding perfect solos that no-one else could get that amount of emotion into and the irony is, he thought 3 million plus sales proved it was inferior material.

Dark days, but what an album.

  • FUCK ALL THAT WE'VE GOTTA GET ON WITH THESE!! GOTTA COM-PETE WITH THE WILY JAPANEZZZEE!1!

  • This isn't only Pink Floyd's greatest album. It's the greatest album of All-Time.

  • @kdwestbrooks

    Indeed.

  • @kdwestbrooks As an owner of an extensive music collection, I have to disagree.

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames I disagree, too. Simply because it is impossible to choose a "best" Pink Floyd album, after carefully listening to all of them multiple times I must say they are all fucking awesome.

  • artistry. there's no equal. No enjoyment that offers an amalgomate of what this stuff offers. This is it.

  • And if I show you my dark side

Will you still hold me tonight?

And if I open my heart to you

And show you my weak side

    What would you do?

    *** She's Fuckin Gone ***

  • Almost unbelievably deep and totally uncompromising. Beyond music.

  • This album is one long, wonderful song.

  • glory and eternal rest for those who died during the 82 conflict ........ because of people from the Fletcher Memorial Home.........never again.

  • I love this album, one of the best Pink Floyd albums

  • This was Roger at his most naked. I have listened to this album in more dark times than I can count. Ten billion American Idol performances mean less than one fraction of this song.

  • I am so sick of people knowing The Final Cut. It's fucking brilliant! The only thing that could have been done to make this a more "Floyd" album was to add more guitar strumming along with the piano. This would have made it sound less like a soundtrack (like how the Wall has songs that can stand-alone). But that's what I love about this album. And more guitar parts or not, the songs are absolutely brilliant!

  • It has been said 'The Final Cut" was part 2 of 'Thw Wall'...songs that didnt make the wall went on 'Final Cut'...anyway...another classic from a golden band... Floyd forever

  • 19 demente.

  • best song

  • This song keeps me alive together with "paranoid eyes" and "the gunners dream". All my post traumatic war scars stops hurting when i sail away in this beautiful painting of music and poetry. I recognize my fears and nightmares in every cord and in every word. I gives me the distance never to make that final cut.

  • Comment removed

  • My all time Pink Floyd album. Especially this song. Fantastic lyrics. Gives me chills down my spine.

  • @boobar2000 Don't forget The Gunner's Dream

  • I remember seeing a film just like this but with a guy sitting on a couch drinking a beer but he was much younger and a girlfriend stopped by and he was drinking beers watching all this old school war footage on tv. Was a great film, I saw it on PBS in Minnesota years ago but I've never been able to find it. The wall and this clip are just like it. Any one know?

  • mine she sold her story to facebook

  • 2:49 is why rolling stone gave this album 5 stars

Not that this is a bad album but it's not a perfect album.

  • Brilliant song. Its the side of floyd you have to listen to on your own.Amazing lyrics, amazing music.Thanx roger.

  • Brilliant song. Its the side of floyd you have to listen to on your own.Amazing lyrics, amazing music.Thanx roger,

  • This is possibly Roger Waters best album. The other one would be Amused to death.

  • i remember buying this TAPE when I was a kid, and coming home, lighting up the insence, blacklight comes on, lay back and get high listening to the great soothing sound of Pink Floyd. I wouldn't be who I am today without this great music.

  • i can listen to this song for the rest of my life!

  • "Through the fish-eyed lens of tear-stained eyes, I can barely define the shape of this moment in time". BEST lyrics ever...unreal talent...simply unreal.

  • "Through the fish-eyed lens of tear-stained eyes, I can barely define the shape of this moment in time". BEST lyrics ever...unreal talent...simply unreal.

  • so powerful from beginning to the end

  • yeah it's true , Roger Waters is the brain of Pink Floyd band but .. Guilmour is the best guitarist of this world , it's my opinion ... This song is so expresive !

  • omg.. i just feel every one of pink floyd's songs.. they are so meaningful.. so speaking to me, from me, about me... jeez.. i've been listening to this for 20 years and it never ever gets old!! if there was no other music in the world, it would be okay.. as long as we always have pink floyd

  • who's the chick at 2:27?

  • And if I show you my darkside, will you still hold me tonight....and if I open my heart you, show you my weak side...what would you do.....She'll rip your @#$% heart out in front of you...To teach you a lesson...

  • It is of course a depressive album, though is Rogers deep experience about the post war era.......the outstanding of this album is the authentic grieve he is experiencing and how he print this to the album in both lyrics and music.

  • does anyone know who that woman is at 3:53?

  • Why are there thumbs down?

  • Oddly enough, this album was only made to fulfill their recording contract. They wern't even in the studio at the same time for many of the songs.

    Pink Floyd's Magnum Opus.

  • @caribbillean ..True. Most music critics at the time considered this to be Roger Water's first "solo" album. Wright wasn't involved at all, and Gilmour & Mason pretty much "called it in"...so to speak.

  • @caribbillean So this an odd album? More ammo for the crazy dream? More conflict? ... If this is no more than a contractual obligation then give me the rest of the 'cuts'.

  • One of the best.

  • The only problem I have with this album...

once it's started, I have to play it through to the end.

  • @barnaby2011able i just did that with my mp3 plyer, now im here ur so right

  • @barnaby2011able and how is that a problem? ;)

  • @barnaby2011able Sign of a good album mate!

  • @barnaby2011able Problem?

  • @barnaby2011able For me, the only problem for me is, when it ends I'm left wanting more. But there's nothing else that compares to this album, so I'm left feeling quite unfulfilled. It's like drinking a big glass of milk, but there are no cookies to find!

  • I only bought this album yestorday and listened to it for the first time. What a depressing album though. I felt so down when it was finished. :( I'm not sure I like it. :\

  • @renoo27 Hold on to it. There's music for every mood, and this will have it's time.

  • @renoo27 Exactly what cleer said. Wait till you're already down, and it'll have the opposite effect. Well, it won't make you feel good per se, but it'll get you back to normal. It makes me comfortably numb to whatever was bugging me at the moment... This and a beer : )

  • i love this song it makes me cry every friggin time, i dont care what others say about this album too its just beautiful, its Roger's feelings sifted down for us to clearly look at, i think that so brave of him, i bet none of us can do that, God bless Roger Waters

  • @TheBeatlefloyd he doesnt believe in imaginary people.

  • @typhoon382 what now?

  • THIS IS GREAT THANKS FOR POSTING , MY FAV " PINK FLOYD" ALBUM IS AMUSSED TO DEATH!!! KNOW WHAT I MEAN? ROGER IS GOD!!!!

  • A lot of talk about how overlooked this album was. True, but here's why: it should have been a solo album. I mean, it's almost like Roger's diary - just makes more sense that way.

As a Pink Floyd album, it's lacking the psychedelic sounds and expanses that characterized earlier albums (though this could also be said of The Wall). But as a Roger Waters album, it's fantastic songwriting with great orchestration, aided by the cameo of legendary guitarist David Gilmour.

    Know what I mean?

  • @sex6cult9revolution I totally agree with what you have written. I've often said that The Final Cut is my favorite "Pink Floyd" album although it could be considered a Roger Waters Solo Album that two other guys from Pink Floyd happen to be on...but one could say that Momentary Lapse and Division Bell are David Gilomour solo albums that two other guys from Pink Floyd happen to be on...

  • I LOVE this album!

  • if i have to choose this is my best pink floyd album

  • I totally agree with you

  • All sorts of awesomness!

  • up there with the best floyd albums

  • gosh, i never get tired of this song

  • One of the most stunning songs of all time! Get's me every time.

  • Amazing. Roger (and Floyd) have a real way of touching on all our doubts and fears and have always portrayed them brilliantly in their songs even from the very early days.

btw. Does anyone have a link to Roger performing this song live? All the uploads on here claiming to be it seem to be Southampton Dock instead. Please PM me if you know a real one. Cheers!

  • i love this album, its such a downer though

  • YES I,M COMING...... :)

  • Amazing... great song.

  • Roger reminds me of the Mouth of Sauron.

  • Awesome.

  • and if i opened my heart to you, showed you my weak side- what would you do?

  • Outstanding, thank you for posting...

  • the best. I have this cd,the final cut, n 1990 and loved it yeah every bit of it. Inc.": f**** that john we gotta get out of this"

  • the best. I have this cd,the final cut, n 1990 and loved it yeah every bit of it. Inc. f**** that john.

  • whoever wrote that hey you was written for this album, but put on the wall instead....this album came out 4 years after the wall did....brush up bro.

  • would you take the children away, and leave me alone....... :(

  • awsome lyrics from mr waters :) making love to girls in magazines.

  • I couldn't have been a bigger Floyd fan in high school (twenty years ago). I had all the albums, all the solo albums, the Syd Barrett stuff...all of it. I'm still convinced that this is their greatest album. Totally underrated.

  • @kevinmhanley38 totally agree, im 32 n ive loved floyd since i can remember, my shelves are full of floyd :D

  • @kevinmhanley38 yeah really...yeah i agree....

  • @kevinmhanley38 Great underated album but not the best. It seems like Waters recorded it and Gilmour stopped by on his free time cut a couple leads and went on his way.

  • Guessing he had issues with his mom.

  • @eshiveley takes one to know one

  • i love it.

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • "Despite everything, I never had the nerve to make the final cut." - indeed my friends. I love you all.

  • This album has had no where near enough recognition. After his Wall tour i think Rodger Waters should do a Final Cut tour.

  • This song was one of my favorites for a very long time.

Despite everything, I never had the nerve to make the final cut.

  • COME SEMPRE......ASSOLUTAMENTE UNICI...AUTENTICI...EMOZIONANTI!!!!!!!!

  • and if you fuck my head ,up will i still hold you tonight...

  • roger has a really big mouth

  • WONDERFULLLLLLLLLLLLLL SONGGGGGGGGGGG <3

  • It's not really a Pink Floyd album but more of a Roger Waters solo album...the other guys had next to no input in the creative process of the album but its still a great one either way.

  • my favourite PF Album

  • @ulizinho "The Final Cut" is actually a Roger Waters album, using what was left of Pink Floyd at this depressing time as a backup band. Rick was gone, and Nick was barely still there. And what was left at the time had no say whatsoever in the music.

  • @BrokenChair88 ...sad but true. However, I still love this album.

  • Why was this album slated? It's brilliant...It's the extension of the Wall as far as I'm concerned...Anyhow all of P.F'ds work is mind thought magical...

  • the No1 album 4me No2 dark side of the moon No3 the wall No4.......... you tell me

  • the first roger waters album uofficially

  • Best song ever written

  • *sigh* Roger, if you could do this live, I would be in your devotion forever (I already am) but...

  • @strummer77clash agreed i would go see this album live in a heartbeat

  • Comment removed

  • This song is the best summary of suicidal depression that Ive ever heard. Ive had more experience with that particular issue that I would admit given the choice, and when you live with it you come to sabotage yourself in social situations to prevent people from getting close enough to get to know whats inside in case they do reject you because of it. Which of course makes you feel even more isolated and alone.

Pointless comment really, depression is bad, song is good, video is good.

  • @shootatmepls1 I was going to nod sagely at your comment and commend you for your honest insight, until I noticed that you call yourself "shoot at me please" which makes you sound a bit self indulgent about the whole thing. Say what you like about isolation but there are no wiser words than "get a grip old son."

  • @HitMeQuick I take it you also judge books by their title? My online name isn't self indulgent at all, its just a left over from when I used to play online shooters (Asia Pacific battlefield 2 league via GameArena)......

Insight is insight regardless of where it comes from, do you also discount comments from children because they are young? Sometimes the keenest insight comes from unexpected quarters. As Shakespeare said, "What is in a name?"

  • @shootatmepls1 Mmm Ok fair enough, its an online shooter game name, I don't need the nerdy details. (And your insight wasnt all that, don't flatter yourself) Do you think your depression had anything to do with playing computer games?

  • @HitMeQuick No, I think it had to do with growing up in a situation where I was merely extra work for my parents, having a mother who managed to undermine any confidence or self esteem I gained, followed by her mental breakdown and eventual psychosis during my teen years, followed by an 8 year long physically and psychologically abusive relationship which I stayed in as long as possible to take care of and protect my children. Anything else or are you finished now?

  • @shootatmepls1 Have you seen Good Will Hunting? I think there is a momnet there towards the end that you should watch. Its not your fault.

  • @HitMeQuick You're a dick, seriously.

  • OBRA PRIMA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is this the last Pink Floyd album with Roger Waters?

    or

is it a Roger Waters album with the guests Gilmour/Wright/Mason?

    Who know`s;-)

  • @Kegle68 Last Pink Floyd with Roger Waters.

  • @ln6969 Thanks, but I know it. It was ironic. Many fans and critics said, Roger should better had take guestmusicians and made "The Final Cut" as a soloalbum. There is not so much to here from Gilmour/Mason/Wright.

But nevertheless, I love "The Final Cut"

  • @Kegle68 It is a good album and underrated. Still I can see why the rest wanted to good. They wanted to have a chance for some expression as well.

  • @Kegle68 dont agree........ some of gilmours solos on this album are incredible...

  • this video is soooo depressing...

  • This album is an abseloute masterpiece

  • making love 2 girls in magazines... ?

  • will u still hold me 2nite??

  • and if i showed you my dark side....will u still hold me 2nite ? and if i open my heart 2 u show u my weak side??? what would u do ?open my heart 2 u...what would u do >>would u take the children away ??and leave me alone... ?

  • Most underrated song of Pink Floyd.

  • best pink floyd album to date

  • Edith Piaf =)

  • I did have a lot of Hallucinations back in the day haha... Micro Dots<<< i wish they were still about:) Mesmerising Album....... another stroke of genius from Rogers Waters..... Pink Floyd

  • Sad Hitler was a subject of this great music rather than just plain forgotten... This makes me want to cry... The world was still in color back then just recorded in black and white.

  • This album has nothing to do with Hitler, it is a tribute to his father and a commentary on the Faulkland war. WW2 is merely a backdrop.

  • @bixby1999 It's much more then that, it's personal to roger. he is speaking to a psychiatrist and half his face is blacked out. It's juxtaposed with the war effort but it's related to rogers personal plight.

  • @bixby1999 You have to remember that roger has never played this song live. That means is deeply personal and he most likely wants to keep it a recorded track. Actually this song is probably one of the few directly related to roger's life then about the war or military on that album.

  • @PoliticsAddict Thanks, I was just being general in my description.

  • Great Album!! Roger Waters puts on an AWESOME SHOW!!! seen him twice, this is one of the shows i seen in 2004.... djbot420;o) is Buzzed:o)
