  • It's amazing. But I have to say that I hate how he says "You know who".

  • Best rendition of the scene evar

  • From Step Brothers to Chicago - John C Reilly does it ALL!

  • Love this song! He brings out so much emotion! For another good version check out one of the videos I uploaded... an awesome live singer...

  • i know this is supposed to be sad but about 4 minutes in i started cracking up and him dancing around like that

  • @HoverboardFan14 ikr me too :)

  • I'm singing this for an audition tomorrow and I'm just now learning it...i can totally pull it off! :)

  • best part of Chicago and i luv CZJ

  • A brilliant song in

a part that would suit me!

  • I love this musical.

  • This song got John C. Reilly his oscar nod

  • the worst part is that he gets completely ignored after this scene. I would have loved if the last scene is just him with some other girl that isn't a bitch, but he loses completely.

  • I feel his pain...

  • Not only did he get screwed around by Roxie but he got robbed later at the Oscars. Amazing performance!

  • I love this song...it's so sad.

Why did this come up as a recommendation for an Abilify commercial, though?

  • what an incredible performance by John C. Reilly. that was amazing.

  • That was a great year for John C Reily! He was in 4 of the 5 best picture nominees and was nominated for best supporting actor for this!!

  • My son thinks this guy is just a comedian. Ha!

  • claps to John C Reilly!!!!

  • God damnit I love this song. It always makes my eyes water up just a little..Poor Amos..I hope he found some nice lady after the events of this movie...

  • i didnt even know he could sing!

  • I never knew the guy from step brothers could sing!

  • @gymluvr96 THATS WHAT HE'S FROM!! I knew he looked familar!! D:

  • best song in the movie

  • While you watch this movie you absolutely love Roxie, until it comes to the parts like this when Amos gets completely overlooked and everyone basically takes advantage of him (especially Roxie). Then you hate Roxie.

  • Dr. Steve Brule sure can sing.

  • cant see this and not get a little choked up. great bit of acting.

  • Man. The only good characters in the movie both have really shitty fates.

  • The way he performs this has so much damn soul.

  • :( poor guy

  • Is that lisa edelstein at 1:03?

  • @dawgindacrib That does look alarmingly like her.

  • Check my page out for a Somber Acoustic version of this song!!!

  • Most people wouldn't think he would have such a good voice just because of how he looks. But he sounds better than most modern day pop singers. Which is the complete truth. I love his voice.

  • I am Mr. Cellophane

  • No matter how much fun this movie was, I hated it. All the characters are terrible people who suffer no consequence for their actions. He is the only exception and he gets totally shafted.

  • @plutoburns

That's sort of the point of the musical, it's meant to be dark and satirical. The fact that the only decent guy in the whole thing gets screwed over emphasizes the cynicism.

  • amus is such a sweet guy in the film. Kinda sad how everyone uses him, and he still steps up for Roxxie, even after she cheats on him.

  • It's surprising how funny this guy can be and be totally touching as well.

  • Love this scene... I can totally relate. What a great actor!!!

  • Well I feel kinda depressed now

  • çocuklar harikasınız. 1 yaşındaki zenci su kaplumbağam ayşen ile sürekli bunu izliyoruz. çok öptüm

  • Reilly is the perfect actor for this. I feel bad for saying that though, feel like I'm doing him a great injustice.

  • They managed to have babies. Twins, in fact. Unfortunately, they didn't realize it at first, and took home from the hospital one of the babies. The nurses named the "invisible" one Nemo. :-(

  • This is one of my favorite songs from the movie c:

  • I like this song, but always remember Boats 'N Hoes

  • I feel like Mr Cellophane all the time.

  • thumbs up for gere's words "Oh! I didn't see you... "

  • I wish he'd do more roles like this. I like his comedic roles, but they make it easy to forget how talented John C. Reilly is.

  • I never knew he had such a great voice, I never noticed.

  • This song always makes me feel for Roxie's Husband all the time. It really makes me mad how that woman treated him >:(

  • @1337MaxRabbit I bet you do. :/

  • One of the best showstopping songs out there.

  • That spotlight-shadow effect started with the movie "Cabaret" in the 70s, I believe.

  • He sounds like a combination of Fergie and Jesus.

  • I can see you Mr. Cellophane!!! I believe! I believe in Cellophanes!!

  • This whole movie was amazing. From Catherine Zeta-Jones to Queen Latifah. Even Richard Gere singing and dancing.

I heard (maybe from the DVD) that John C. Reilly wanted this part so bad that he did a video of him singing "Mr. Cellophane" and sent it to the producers. Worked. FTW.

  • What I love about this film is not only the incredible vocals, acting and dancing, but also the incredible songwriting. An interesting fact? ALL of the main actors have Broadway experience, except of course Renee Zellweger. But honestly, if you didn't know any better would you have known? She is as incredibly talented and vibrant as the rest of the cast. And you know the sad thing about the film? Richard Gere is the only main actor in the film that did not receive any Oscar credits! Lame.

  • I absolutely loooooove this film, but does anyone ave a copy of this song without the dialogue from the scene?

  • Oh god. Saw the broadway show of Chigago. It was sensational! And Amos was so sad :'(

  • Like if you completely relate to this character.

  • lolol "you still here andy?" as you're looking directly at him

  • It was ok, I forgot what I was watching

  • :'( I'll notice you!! -/3

  • lol 1:04 and 1:20 the people are like......what the fuck....or they're looking right through him....

  • I am worse than Amus!

  • @akoolman1 Who said that?

  • ... Oh, I'm sorry. Was Andy singing? I didn't really notice...

  • GOD!!!! I feel so bad for Amus in this musical. Roxie completely ignores him, and he's such a sweet guy. Like a poor puppy dog. I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • @Butterwen Amos

  • You just fall so in love with Amus <3

  • Oh, Amos. If I walked by you, I'd notice you...

  • I feel so much like that sometimes invisible!

  • ugh this song breaks my heart every time

  • I love how when the trial is over and Billy is leaving it seems everyone has already left, but then Amus pops out as if he were invisible.

  • fuck you cellophane/amos for making me feel so sad..

  • Love this song

  • Oh Amus, haven't we all felt that way before?

  • I wish I was born in that era

  • in my oppinion this is the best song from the movie, they were all amazing, but this was exceptional.

  • I like how he was the only one without having the song announced.

  • This musical is all about the female characters, so this song doesn't get as much attention. But it's such a great song and this guy just nails it, which is no small feat given the emotion and spareness of the song. You can't hide behind spectacle in this one.

  • I did this performance all by myself for school, no one else did a solo and I was new to the class since coming back from overseas and I think I did pretty well although I was very happy we were doing a movie I know so well I can burst out into song at any time when it comes to Chicago.

  • this guy stole the whole movie with this one song! magical!

  • Hey!! Isn't that the guy who spread his butt cheeks apart as Mike Honcho for Playgirl Magazine? :)

  • He doesn't know Jesus' voice..it's a quote from another movie Reilly did..stepbrothers thats why his range is amazing..he can be totally goofy like on stepbrithers and telledega nights But, do broadway as well.

  • Best song in the show.

  • Comment removed

  • I love how the sounds of his steps make part of the music.

  • This is my favourite song in the whole movie <3 feel bad him though :(

  • love it!

  • For your observability!

  • BOATS AND HOES!

  • He sounds like a combination of Fergie and jesus!

  • @faustj05 Best. Description. Ever.

  • He sounds like a combonation of Fergie and jesus!

  • the best performance of Rielly!

  • so so so beautiful

  • @duhgreatjob RAWR!!!

  • Who the hell guessed he could sing, and amazingly at that?

  • Heartbreakingly beautiful

  • such a beautiful and sad song at the same time.

  • i did this song for my theatre class today and the teacher said i completely became the part i was so happy

  • When I saw this at a local theatre, It was funny cause the guy playing Amos had to gesture to the Spotlight guy to follow him XD

  • The last 45 seconds its so amazing, sends chills down my spine every time. 3:47

  • The acting range of this guy is amazing.

  • @Spriteaddict14 He mostly just does comedy stuff, or so I thought. After I watched this movie I got a -WHOLE- new range of respect for him.

  • @Spriteaddict14 Yep. I sister was furious when he didn't win any awards for this part. I agree. He is amazing. And what a voice.

  • Shake and Bake

  • This is my favorite song in Chicago :D

  • Doctor Steve in his early years, before he had to learn how to live alone

  • Awwww, I always feel so bad for this guy. He's not the smartest character but he seems like a nice guy and I feel sorry he got landed with Roxie.

I do think John C. Rielly was really good in this role. He's more versatile than I initially thought.

  • never. even. KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! i'm there.

  • @xoxonessashadow I hope I haven't taken to much of your time

  • love it

  • i love the fact tht he put so much emotion into it :( especially the last bit where he seems fustrated and desperate <3

  • Quit fuckin cryin. There's lots of benefits to being invisible.

  • At least the spolight guy knows he's there.

  • My god, his face in the end!!!!, makes me cry

  • John C. Reilly is one of my fave actors today. He can do comedy to drama and everything in between. Great actor!!

  • His voice is amazing! I agree, best performance in the entire movie.

  • Best performance in the entire movie.

  • i seriously have no idea how ANYONE could dislike this!!

i luv this song so much love the whole movie/musical but this is my fav part ever!! <3

  • how did this get 3 dislikes? you people have no brain

  • love john c riely i really loved his performance in the movie. the sad thing is when it comes to glee there have been so many opportunities where they could've used this song so effectively in an emotional way it just felt clownish when kurt sang it for his audition
