Until Namco says otherwise, by the evidence, the kids is more likely Cheria's then Sophie's. I always thought Asbel's relationship with Sophie is like a brother and sister relationship then actual boyfriend and girlfriend relationship. Sophie seems to support Cheria's and Asbel's relationship. Also the kid doesn't have any physical traits that flag that Sophie is his mother and more towards Cheria. So if Cheria isn't the mother, Sophie isn't also the mother.

I don't know why people get it in the head that Sophie can be a possible mother to Asbel's kid. When I look at the kid, I think of Asbel because he looks like him and Cheria because of the eye color and butterfly pin along with maybe the hair since the kid's hair is a little lighter color then Asbel's. The kid doesn't have anything like Sophie who has Purple hair, purple eyes and if there was a pin, won't it be shape like a Closophie or some flower? Don't thumb down without giving me a reason!

I don't get what are you saying exactly, but the kid is most likely Cheria's kid because having same eye color, same broach and hair is sort of mix between Asbel and Cheria. Since Asbel and Cheria trust Sophie, I am pretty sure they trust her enough to take care of their kid and maybe she wants to play with him because some say the kid is the reincarnation of the good side of Lambda? Well, to be honest I'm not 100% sure the kid is Cheria's. I can certainly see and buy into that Asbel and Sheria got together, but a) I would think they would make something so important more clear, b) short of ToS2, they've never so strongly canon-ized character get-togethers (and even there, it wasn't this much), and c) the kid's eye color doesn't look so much like Sheria's. I was pretty surprised when I saw this supposed canon-izing so I ended up comparing the colors, and the kid's eye

In the ending after Lambda completely went to its dormant state, Sophie suggested that Lambda hasn't completely disappeared. It was also implied that Lambda (light form) is inside of Asbel. When Asbel and Cheria married and had a kid, they must have named the boy Lambda. Therefore, this fulfilled Asbel's wish. He wanted Lambda to experience what it is like to be human. Not difficult to figure out once you piece the puzzles together.

ソフィの語りは、自分とアスベルの事なのかなと最初思いましたが

木に新しく彫られていた名前はラムダのようでしたし

From what we can get, it is most likely Asbel and Cheria's kid and he is playing with Sophie who is now older. Clues are the fact he looks like Asbel when he was young and the kid has Cheria's eye color, miniature version of Cheria's pin and her hair color.

Why am I getting two thumbs down? If it is not Cheria then it is not Sophie because the kid doesn't have any resemblance to Sophie. If you watch every scene with Sophie close enough, she has purple hair AND purple eyes. This kid has some shade of brown eyes, not purple eyes and Asbel has blue eyes with one purple eye at the end of the game, so the kid mom have have shade of brown eyes.

Side note: Sophie seems to also supports Cheria and Asbel relationship and just wants Asbel as a close friend maybe even brother figure. There is also a couple scenes that has romantic or love feeling in the air between Cheria and Asbel. Sophie plays with their child because either they were busy and she is babysitting, she wants to hang out with the kid or the other way around or they are true friends like Asbel is to her. Also Asbel might as well show up in the scene if Sophie is the mom.
