About 4 yrs ago..12k in (EYE, hortilux bulbs) lights used to run us about 575 a month, that with everything wired 220v and only 5 days veg.. We switched to electronic ballasts and it dropped about 50-75. We also had a c02 purge system set at 1500ppm had a 1.5t A/C dedicated to the room and 4 "elicent?" Duct fans, mofos were 400 each! We grew, DJ shorts blueberry, master Kush,mothers finest, AK, delta 99,afgan,northern,jack heir,mango,strawberry chough,widow. Hundreds of wonderful Crosses!

Think i know why so many plants i see on youtube are lanky and thin stemmed, from observation it seems that the worst offenders have their lights far to high, this tends to make the plants stretch for the light. Trying to make the lights cover too much space is not good. WOrk it out. AT Least 40 watts per square ft, and only a couple of ft above the plants, not 5 ft, this is why its best to use 400s or 600s , 1000s are too hot to keep close enough to the plants. IT WORKS, my seedlings are shrubs

@sillylocs420 400s and 600s are the best, you can keep them closer to the plants to make short, dense shrubs that you have NO HOPE Of looking straight through, big yielders, a pound per 400 is the goal, its not difficult with practice, my personal room is 3.5 by 1.2 meters. 4 square meters with three 400 HPS. three pounds per harvest of primo, manicured, over 20%, ime lucky i can have mine analysed easily[friends in right place] I dont bother with strains that wont do this in 90 days! CHeck!

Looks great mate,. They seem a little slow for 5.5 weeks, probably cos its a soil grow. Should be good by harvest, very healthy. What i dont understand with most grows i see on here is the thin stalks!!! With a five week veg, mine usually have stems over an inch thick and much stronger branches, i just dont know why??? Also, shorter and much denser, how is the temp in there??? My room rarely gets above 25C, with nutes kept at 19C, with a heater:)3 pound From 3 400 watt HPS!!

@kocfkocf Its not the cameras bud, its hard to get good images with HPS lighting, its too yellow, and in a room that size you can hardly set it up for a shoot with proper lighting. With some vid cams the HPS Causes a constant flicker in the vid, one of mine does this and one does not. Frequency mismatch or something!! I would really like to know how much dry weight 10000 watts produces in this situation:)

@TheZacdes You can filter it out for pretty cheap. If you use didymium lenses (the kind glass blowers use to cut out sodium flare when lamp working) you can get crystal clear pics without the yellow and it enhances other colors to give a more natural lighting appearance. I have done it a few times just using glass blowing safety glasses over the lens of the camera. Works like a charm.

If the shots i used were for this purpose i would have used the correct filter to fix the spectrum, as you say, its easy but, i never had any plans to make them public, just whacked off a few now and then for mates to check out, thats as close as anyone gets,lol This time, ime doing it right hehehe!! That would fix the colour, but i dont know about the high frequency flicker, never seen it before!! These look as good as any ive seen from the States,

Seems like should be better if this is really running 10,000 watts. The set-up with the alley down the middle is wasting light. All the plants should be closer together so that the side light of one bulb hits plants under the neighboring lights and visa versa never have an open space in the middle. Just not an efficient use of lights or space.
