There is so much to learn about Europe's forced exile out of the Dark Ages because of the vikings; Massive dispersal of historical, religious, scientific, and literary documents that were being hoarded by monks; Trade of kings to enrich a new and different league of rulers - not better but new...important factor when compared to stagnation;

@Mauhadeeb28 Uh...Medieval Scandinavian peaceful? Check above for how much I respect the culture....but, peaceful is not a word I would use to describe it. Perhaps, 'agents of change', like Loki...so venerated and scorned in Norse society. But there's always truth in the trickster.

@brucedouglaswilson Yes. Peaceful. The overwhelming majority of "Vikings" were farmers and hunters in small communities. Much of their history has been erased by the catholic church as the Nords were seen as "heretics". Catholicism hated competition and had the power and resources to do something about it back then.
