If this is "NBC NIGHTLY News", why do they ditch a skyline of New York City at night for a shot of the GE Building in the middle of the afternoon?

The GE Building is where the show is filmed. They always play a live shot of New York City, and since it was August and the show ends at 7pm, the sun hadn't set yet.
