@BANJOKUZOOIE The paint will not adhere to the plastic properly. You can use a fusion primer/paint spray, which technically is still using primer except now it is mixed in with paint if you don't want to use a stand alone primer. Krylon I know makes one like that.

personally, once i had painted mine and allowed it to dy, carefully i sanded down the insides of the analogue stick holes and buttos on the actual casing so that it removed the layer of paint in those areas so that the buttons didnt get stuck.

WTF!?! My PS3 controller that I got with my BRAND NEW PS3, didn't come with the things he put inbetween R1 and R2 and L1 and L2 or the battery holster. I got it in DEC. 2010.

@sittingbull022 Thank you for mentioning about the updated controllers. Controllers that are 2010 and above does not come with L1, R1, L2, R2 separators which makes it waay easier to assemble back the controller.

@RICEFREAK When you put it back together and started playing it did you notice buttons sticking or not working right or anything out of the norm because of the disassembly. My controller is dirty and sometimes the joy sticks stick so this might be a great way to clean it.

@sittingbull022 the reason why is because after a certain date( which i do not know ) they changed the design of the controller slightly to make it simpler to manufacture by taking out a process in production, which just so happened to be the clips in between those buttons, they integrated the clips into the top cover of the controller
