I believe in the world being created by a giant spaghetti monster. Since evolution is not true, the only possible alternative is creationism and our belief in the giant spaghetti monster. That is why science class should be divided to teach these beliefs equally.
We have a holy pasta book of teachings which reveals the Spaghetti monster created everything leaving fake facts behing to let people believe in evolution, and then, turned invisible to watch who would remain faithful. Rhamen!
Part 1> ha, ha, ha that spaghetti humor never gets old , even years later !!! Reading your ," Time + chance = Rib tickling Humor" comments produced by blind pitiless evolutionary programming of your un-designed brain, I can only react by giving a sigh of relief that you are on the other side! I am glad to see the atheists are starting to realize that even the spaghetti Monster looks rational compared to atheism, and jumping in and struggling to develop "The argument from Spaghetti"
Part 2> Evolution is irrelevant to the existence of god either way, and the Kreeft in this video personally said he believes its true. so you may want to watch a video before commenting on it, it makes you look more intelligent and less hysterical . No one wants classes divided to teach different views that's another straw man, though some of us would like freedom of speech so you don't get fired if you are even remotely skeptical of a theory.
Part 3> It doesn't matter if religious folks get there views about the Universe from Holy books or fortune cookies that's irrelevant , what matters is Can their view that God is more rational than atheism Logically stand up on its own ? Design requires a designer. Is a universe that also contains rational creatures something atheism would even predict ? Your conversion to the spaghetti cult shows atheisms faults are starting to dawn on you.
@grandconjunct You're kidding, right? "something atheism doesn't predict." Atheism doesn't predict anything, it isn't a set of beliefs in and of itself. Atheism is a term applied to the recognition that there is no rational basis for faith. The point of FSM is to be absurd. There is no conversion, much less any basis for mocking. Any theist who mocks FSM is mocking themselves - That is the point
Part 4> Fake scientific facts is something no one believes in but fringe element within Y.E. creationists circles , So your looking for the Venomfang channel that's down the hall I'm afraid you are horribly lost and commenting wildly on any video you see.
Of coarse this assumes you are a real person and not an old Rational responder comment bot someone forgot to de-activate years ago , and still spewing RRS tired humor from years ago.
@grandconjunct No need to be defensive. He's employing the notion of Russel's Teapot. It's the same thing as FSM. It points out the same flaws in trying to use biblical scripture as historical fact. It simply doesn't hold water (no flood pun intended).
The spaghetti monster joke started out just cheesy, but now it's moldy and smelly. God walked the earth and the ungodly ones still want proof he exists! lol
i have heard of that passage before. but it really would help if we did actually see. it would save alot of ppl (who may not have heard of jesus ) of going to spend eternity in hell.
and will heal the rest on his time table not the mockers who sees all pain as meaningless and Euthanasia as the best cure for it , sometimes he raises people from the dead too (see video link ) Whats the atheists answer to the amputee ? life sucks deal with it ?
There is no evidence that "there is no evidence for God" & also no evidence that God never heals amputees.
How can anyone even be an atheist ? do you people believe in magic or something
Unfortunately, as you should know, the burden of proof is on the theist. They are making the proposal that there is a god. Your statement over whether God heals amputees would be credible if you could show non-Biblical examples of this occurring.
And no, I don't think many atheists believe in magic. However, it would be hard to separate Biblical "miracles" with magic. Is the difference the person from which the supernatural event was caused?
@grandconjunct i hardly even know where to begin with what you are saying.
let's keep it simple:
1. i do not need to disprove god, you need to prove he exists, and not a single person ever has. i cannot, in a sense, prove he does not.
2. you are a special kind of insane if you are so deluded that you think god has replaced limbs or brought people back to life. can you show me a single example of this that wouldn't be the same as me discussing the color of fairy wings from a child's book?
@vigilantzodiac how about when someone is clinically dead and then comes back to life with no medical explanation? since it cannot be proven that science did it, what other explanation could there be?
about 7:30 he talks about God revealing himself to us, given what he says which is God's revelation to us, couldn't an atheist say that God is hiding and refusing to reveal himself, at least directly (although he does indirectly through science).
Kreeft is a solid, approachable philosopher and a pretty decent guy. Also, favoriting/upvoting this so youtube will stop reccomending me "punch gawd in teh fase" by Xxnietzsche349xX.
The assumption you make is that there exists any validity to any religious docturine or text that relates back to a god such that the intentions of god could be discussed. There is only text that we have created and is refutable. Since you can't demonstrate that a god is in contact or cares, you can't suggest that belief is important; ie, where is the logic that connects "singular god" therefore "it matters" when "singular god" therefore "it doesn't matter" is just as likely.
I believe he goes further into that elsewhere. You'll notice that this is just the first part of an eight part series. It says The Existence of "God" but he should say the existence of a supreme being. This series aims to prove the existence of a supreme being, in other articles, essays, lectures, etc. he talks about why the Christian god is the right god.
Believers, ask yourselves this question: WHY DOESN'T GOD HEAL AMPUTEES?
You accept that your god cures disease, as it clearly states in the bible. HOWEVER, no matter how hard you pray, no matter how deeply you believe, your god NEVER heals amputees. WHY? Does he not LIKE amputees? Are they creepy? Do they deserve his mercy any less than cancer patients?
The answer is obvious: There are no gods. There is just us humans, and we need to start believing in PEACE, instead of nasty fairy tales.
Your argument against God's existence could be summed up as follows.
1. If God exists he would heal all amputees when we pray.
2. Amputees are not healed when we pray.
3. Therefore God does not exist.
Are you serious? You really think this is a good argument? You would have to prove premise 1 for it to be true. This, you cannot prove, therefore your argument fails.
Also, you said we should start believing in PEACE. Let me ask you: why?
Kreeft has some interesting things to say about the problem of evil (theodicy). He doesn't say them here as this is simply an effort to prove the existence of a supreme being. If you are really interested I suggest you research further into the matter (if for no other reason than to know what arguments you will need to refute as an atheist).
Why God has to heal an amputee? So that many atheist in this world shall believe? God heals your heart. So if your heart gets amputated your dead. But if you lose a limb you still got a heart which God can work on and heal. Jesus heals us.
"Test everything. Hold on to that which is good." (1 Thess. 5:21). you not only can question Christianity , you must, your Life and salvation may depend on it.(hos 4:6).Philosophy is the study of reason, Religion assumes truth exists and our minds are capable of knowing it and our brains are designed therefore trustworthy, atheism fears both Religion and philosophy and only leads to bottomless skepticism.
Atheism is what fears questions & especially answers
> No we need to question "everything" , anything that claims to be truth, atheists want to question the very possibility of truth but always assume the truth of atheism without evidence for it. the only thing beyond truth is error and falsehood not a third category where atheism without evidence makes sense. having atheism as the only answer you will ever accept is not being a real questioner or real skeptic but a poser.
Atheists refuse to even try to find truth by thoroughly studying the different claims and evidence of various religions. It is their pride and sloth which hinders them from believing.
Atheists (or, rather, anti-theists) tend to begin with the premise that religious doctrine is, at best, a big joke, and at worst, some distardly or frightening thing to be sneered at or attacked. With this attitude it is no wonder that they do not spend time actually studying theological texts, with a mind open to learning. Such an effort might prove to threaten their cherished premise.
In this way does Atheism show its actual nature, more of an ideology than a philosophical position.
If God is omnibenevolent and omniscient the if he created me he knows that I will eventually become an atheist and the send me to hell. Therefore, as long as atheists live than God can not be both omnibenevolent and omniscient at the same time. I think a more rational explonation would be that there are many gods, an omnipotent god, an omniscient god, an omnibenevolent god, an omnipresent god etc.
God obviously knows billions will choose to reject him and go to Hell , maybe this amount was necessary to get the highest amount of saved, even if they are few, but keep in mind this was the majorities free choice, so it wasn't gods knowledge that screwed up but your free choice that screwed up, the damned have no veto power over the number of saved no matter how many of them choose damnation. the best explanation is One God, One devil and billions of free agents not your confused scenario.
I can hear the violins and people breaking out the hankys, Incredible! the atheist directly below you said God is Santa clause for Adults , and you have nothing at all to say to him but when a Christian defends himself and points out the fact Santa actually exists in many adult atheists Multiverse, you cry crocodile tears of persecution, atheists have the typical bully psychology they can dish it out but cry like a baby when they get spanked,When you get older you will thank us for tough love
the Religious don't believe in Santa, he necessarily exists in the "multiverse" that many atheists invent to avoid the beginning and design of the real universe they fear so much.Atheists are Santa-nists not Christians.
Atheists need to come up with something even more ridiculous than Santa and spaghetti monsters since even these things look rational compared to atheism, besides knocking santa would leave atheists with nothing to sing about on Christmas.
Elroy >> Since so many atheists faithfully believe in Multiverse and hence must believe in Santa clause etc., I think Christians should start calling ourselves "A-santaclausists and "A-Unicornists " to distinguish our selves from the Atheists, Since Christians do not believe in those mythical things but Atheists don't believe in God so wind up believing every imaginable type of nonsense, God saves us from having to believe in Non-sense.
Kreeft makes me feel blessed to be Catholic like him. I truly look up to him and he has helped enourmously with my coherence of God. God bless him and God bless you for putting this up.
