It on the strength of this brother's (yes, Dame Dash's) relationships that Billy Danze, Monch, Rae, Mos Def, Jim, Q-tip etc came in and recorded without their label's meddling.
bottom line, noone should attribute the success to the black keys, the hip-hop artists and Dame Dash. if this would have been an instrumental album it will be nothing. Great band but I'm in the neighbourhood & I had never heard of the keys until they teamed up with my fav. rap artists. Both benefit from each others audience, and trust me these rap artists would not go to a band's studio without their manager's, contracts etc & thats where my man Dame Dash comes in!
@MrHonkey15 "anyone can rap that shit", dude please.
i never said the black keys got no soul fool. They are a great band, I said its a collaborative effort , each playing his part. I was addressing those that say the album is only due to the black keys.
SO not true. Rza and Raekwon are legends. SUCCESS???? are u kidding me???The Keys probably grew up on them just like everybody else. It would have been nice to see the Genius instead of Jim Jones though. This will be another Classic just like The Big Come Up.
jim aint the greatest lyricist or rapper but his voice is incredible he got the right attitude for this record it works genius couldve done it to but i think for the subject matter jim was a better choice genious needs some gods and earths type o shit to flow over
@pacers3115 Hmmm how about Damon dash? He put the players together. But with exception of a few artists the Black Keys did elevate the level of performance of many performing artists. That has to be said.
What you talking about son? These dudes is all about the collaboration and you talking "this dude better than that dude". Nah son that aint right. Its a collaborative effort that proved lucrative for both parties.
Fuck the white keys the black ones have so much more soul. However I fully do not understand your question as it isn't spelled in conjunction with the Collaboration group. The only thing I can make out of it is a color, and the artists are all black.. So I'm dumbfounded!
Europe I'm guessing, cause Dame asked him in the begining "how was Europe"? & he replied "Europe was crazy" so unless that's a big cowinkydink, I'm assuming he got it when he was in Europe.
ODB 's death is HIS fault grown men are responsible for their own actions. however, i think many around could have told him to slow down... this includes the Wu. however, Dirty was an essentric dude wouldn't have mattered what they have said.
