B20 vtec Conversion

I plan on swapping a b20z into my hatch, any tips/hints, is it a straight through swap?

i have a question i got my engine swap from a honda civic v tech engine to an integra v tech engine but the engine isn't hitting v tech, i can just hear the engine get louder but there's no kick.....Do you know what's wrong with my v tech?

sup buddy im buildin a b20v also lookin fo 240 whp all motor... got oem honda bearrings shot peen rods RS machine High compression pistons and eagle block guard and the head got b16 supertech valve n springs and buddy club spec 3 cams =))) you ever run yours at the track and your tack prob doesnt work cause of sum in the dizzy

@JDMkidd89 this was a stock internal build. with the tack, we've ran it like that for many years and never had a problem. finally converted to obd1 so its long gone now.

Those better be arp b20 sepcific head studs or you will strip the block or head.... If they are just B series oem studs they are not long enough....

Trust me a guy in my town striped a perfect jdm b20 block doing that.... I also run a b20 vtec setup (with arp studs)

@bestmastermind951 bent valve on cylinder 2. the head came off my blown turbo motor which threw a rod in cylinder 2.

@YoungStatic Where you able to figure put what was causing the white smoke? I had thought machine work was needed on the B20 to do that vtec swap because the coolant and oil gallies don't line up right. That said I wonder if the smoke is coolant leaking into the combustion chamber for that reason? Also I'm confused what ecu are you using? I thought you said ls but that ecu wouldnt activate vtec?

@lowaccord66 i had bent valves in cylinder 2. you must of not paid attention about the ecu/tach part. the tach controls my vtec and my ls is chipped no rev to run 8200rpm.

the studs go in at 10 ft/lbs? also you said 5000 at the shift light? that when vtec kicks in? you control vtec with your tac?

how did you run an OBD0 dizzy? i thought you'd need to run the same OBD as the harness which should match the head? or was the B16 head obd0 originally?

doesnt matter what obd the head is. im running obd0 harness still in this car. the dizzy is an ls that i had cut one of the flange off to fit it. YES PEOPLE ITS FUCKING POSSIBLE.
