Way back when, I was really into live action video games, so this one was like a gold mine. Played like a fun B movie. Seeing this video takes me back there. Nostalgia at its best. :)

... yes, thats the most logical way to get the wallet out. completely realistic too. get the rat to pull it out for you. they're intelligent enough to do something like that. i hate when adventure games expect you to do the most off the wall shit to get to the next part.

@Breedamka Well, there is a site called gog-dot-com. Just put gog into google and it should come up. It sells all sorts of older titles including this one. It's just $5, but it's a 1 Gig download. Remember it came on like 5 CDs.

Anyway, if you decide to buy it from there could you pleas let me know how there survace is?

I've got a question as well... Is there any way I get can Phantasmagoria 1 to work on my mac? Or any computer? I still have all the disks and everything!

Well, it worked fine on my Windows XP machine. With Phantasmagoria 1 you didn't even need to patch it or anything it just worked. Same with the Dos version of P2. It's only the windows 95 versions that will give you a headache. I don't know what they were doing with that version of windows but it seems they never went back to it. I have not tried it on Vista though.

I thought you couldn't play any games on a mac. Unless you used some kind of windows emulator. O.o

@Disthron I do have a case full of games I played on my mac growing up (mind you, I mean 13/14, when I was 7/8 on my first playthroughs of Phantasmagoria all there was really was pc if I remember correctly)

but I could never get it to work on mac :(

Well Mac is really a work console, from what I understand. So there are not many games made for it. Also, it's a completely different data format. So you won't be able to run a PC version without some kind of emulator.

Though I found in a quick search that people have found ways around that. Like emulating windows or doing a dule boot system.

No offence but Macs aren't known for gaming. I have 200+ PC games but I've been a PC user for a long time.

Siriusly though, it's a PC game. Some one wrote a windows XP patch for it so it's easyer to get running on newer systems.

I even managed to get it working on Vista. I'm surprised it worked as well it did. All I did was mount the image files for each of the five discs using Daemon Tools and I installed a patch that works with Vista and XP and it worked perfectly, I mean it did not crash ONCE! Unbelievable. I've noticed the movies are all in a .DUK file format. Any idea how to convert these to .AVI format?

Well, there was one time, ages ago, when I was scowering the internet for the DUK codec. Remember it's left over from win 95 so it was hard to find. But eventually I did find the codec that allowed me to just play any .duk file. Unfortunatly I don't have the codec anymore as it was a number of years ago. You could always just try playing the game and screen capturing. There is a feature in the options screen to veiw videos that you've seen already.

What determines the grade of a horror movie, anyway, besides budget?

It's not just horror movies but all movies. the grade depends on acting quality, production values and the strength of the script. At least that's how I understand it, I'm not an expert.

I'd say suspence would count in the strength of the scrips but no. I don't think that gore or violence counts toward the "grade" of a movie. It's just it's over all quality. There are a lot of crappy movies that have extremely bloody and or gory scenes, that dose not make them good movies.

Though, that's just my opinion.

One where you have to line up a circle, one that makes no sense, and besides that it's just messing with some items

I've heard of this game, but never played it. I saw a video walkthrough of it last year, seemed pretty cool. It's pretty nice for being this old. I think it was released in 1996?

Reminds me of 'Black Dahlia'. That game was IMPOSSIBLE. Seriously, IMPOSSIBLE. The puzzles were not solveable without a walkthrough.

Black Dahlia, wasn't that a movie that came out recently? I take it that theres no relation between the two?

The only relation was that it dealt with the same subject on the torso killer that killed Elizabeth Short. Aside from that, the storyline dealt with nazis and occultism. It would've been an awesome game but the difficulty level of the game ruined too much.

Phantasmagoria 1 and 2 were a couple great games. I cant get them to work anymore so Ill be more than glad to watch your walkthrough of this game.

Are you also going to play through Phantasmagoria 1 after this?

I don't know, maybe. I'll put up a link in my next video about how to get the game working. You have to download a patch that converts it to the DOS version so you can run it on DOSBox.
