What the government is trying to do is just use the censorship they're proposing to control the content showed to anyone. Nothing will stop them from deciding they don't like, say, 'gays', then blocking all footage, information, or the rest. It isn't being decided by the public what _they_ think is indecent, so in the end, it's all down to the elected government what they think is immoral conduct. Australian Sex Party has my vote, for sure.

That's exactly what I have said to others on many occasions. If we allow the filter to be established, while Senator Conroy says now the intention is not to censor anything based on political bias, what is stopping a future government from doing so? Nothing, and worse, we will not know it's even happening.
