  • sephiroth used one of the line from advent children

  • Color Glitch at beginning?

  • Sephiroth is cool, but his predecessors are even cooler. Garland almost died, but used the power of the four elemental guardians to attain immortality, The emperor summoned fiends to conquer the world, and came back from Hell with the will to destroy the world, Xande nearly destroyed all existence in the world, Golbez sent the four archfiends to kill his brother and gain control of the Baron empire, Exdeath almost sent the entire world into the Void, and Kefka's a world class psychopath.

  • i havent seen this cutscene where do u get it and if u can help im at chapter 4 of shade impulse and using zidane but i still cant beat chaos! can anyone help? X) thanx !

  • @Quotationlad1 if you play through the third Shade Impulse chapter with Cloud you will unlock this cutscene

  • why cloud just be like squall....just kill when ultmecia was talking to squall, he charged at her and stuck her down with his gunblade....wish it had blood gushed out from her...that would be awsome.

  • I seriously want to know what's up with Sephiroth's Cloud fetish. What is his purpose?

  • Sephiroth's been castrated by his fans. Ever since the original game ended, all he can do is spout the same annoying referential lines about cloud being a puppet, despair and him never dying as if they have any deep meaning, and aren't just random important sounding lines, because if he didn't, the fans would never let SE hear the end of it. At least kefka fans realise he's a poor joker knock-off without the charm!

  • "At least kefka fans realise he's a poor joker knock-off without the charm!"

    No, they don't.

  • Personally I think it has more to do with Square looking at an eleven-year-old character they haven't touched in ages and furrowing their brows as they try to remember what exactly he's supposed to talk like, then just throwing up their arms and writing derivative dialogue because they can't think of anything else.

Also, I disagree about Kefka. Frankly he's the only character in this game whose dialogue is any fun to listen to.

  • What is wrong with making refferences to the original game? All the characters do that in Dissidia.

  • There's a difference between being faithful to the character and half-assing it by copy-pasting dialogue.

  • They didn't half-ass it. They gave him a few lines from his respective titles, and plenty of original dialogue in addition. Everyone had lines refferencing their own games. This isn't meant to be something new, its a tribute to past final fantasies.

They were just as faithful to Sephiroth as every other character.

  • If we were JUST talking about this game, it'd be perfectly excusable. I mean, what're you gonna do? It's a mass-crossover fighting game. There isn't a lot that can be done here apart from repeatedly recycling end-boss monologues. If I only had a dollar for every time someone said "let's end this." Still, this isn't the FIRST time they've done this with Sephiroth. He's been repeating the same tired lines and harassing Cloud like a high school bully since Kingdom Hearts 2.

  • (continued) It's as if they're saying that there isn't anything more to this guy than his rivalry with Cloud, when in the original game there was a good bit more to him and Cloud was just sort of a bug he was prepared to squash. I don't think he ever even acknowledged Cloud's NAME, much less cared enough about him to hound him until the end of time. I understand where it comes from, but half the narrative elements that explain this rivalry are in the creators' heads and not in the friggin' game.

  • First, lets not count KH2 as it is in no way Canon or relevant to the FFVII universe. We could disclude Dissidia as well. IN AC/C Sephiroth doesn't really give Cloud any more attention than in the original game. In CC and BC he doesn't even know Cloud exists yet, and has plenty of interactions with other characters, and some decent character developement. Now if another title came out for FFVII, and all he did was bug Cloud in it, I could see where you might be coming from.

  • I'll concede on the matter of Crisis Core as it's the one game I haven't played yet in this whole debate and I honestly can't speak for Sephiroth in that one. Still, whether these games are canon or not isn't really the point. The point is that I've played these games, I can't UN-play them, and I've seen this dialogue three times before.

  • Crisis Core is pretty good, though the combat can be repetitive, and Genesis can be annoying. Aside from that its cool. I would definetely reccomend it. I'll concede that they may be using the dialogue in question a bit too much, but I figure as long as they keep the half-ass approach to cameo appearances and leave it out of the canon, it doesn't hurt me any.

  • Aye, I'd agree. It aint harming my enjoyment of the game, for sure, and for what it's worth, Sephiroth is STILL the first guy I brought to level 100.

  • Cool. Not sure who I'll level up first, I guiess I'll find out when I actually get the game.

  • Sephiroth is the Coolest Villain of this freak'n game! sephiroth said that Cloud is only a puppet ....

and he could never be a Memory.

  • Umm. I don't know. It seems that his entire motivation is to push Cloud around like a high school bully. Only way it could be worse is if he took Cloud's lunch money.

  • nyahahaha! man! your right!

  • Whats with sephiroth's new jewelery

  • His costume for this game (and all the characters' for that matter) is based on the original designs by Yoshitaka Amano, Final Fantasy's lead artist from the old, old days before FF7. It featured those beads you see him wearing.

  • well when dissidia 2 comes out i may not pllay as cloud ill play as noctis

  • when sephiroth pushed cloud's sword away it disappeared

    :P lol

  • i think when sephiroth says we will meet again, it happened in ac o.o

  • 1:07

Ha Sephiroth is defeated by a flash of light hilarious.

  • lo!

    Good one!looooooooooool!

  • "i will never be a memory"- Sephiroth AC

of course he wont be a memory if he was "part" of cloud because he manifested himself through him everywhere.. dissidia.. ff7... AC.... KH

  • by the way 0:05-1:00 what is the name of the song playing

  • 1:03 that's the same thing he said in the movie, unbelievable

  • Sephiroth practically referenced himself of always being Cloud's darkness... hence AC and in KH series

  • Ha. Gotta love Sephs motives. Who cares about killing cloud...lets just make him feel like shit all the way through. haha

  • kefka is the best

  • YESH

  • But Kefka fanboys are the worst

  • is this game going 2 be released in North America soon?

  • Yes. Summer '09. Some places are already taking preorders.

  • sweet!! do u know wat system(s) its for?

  • only 4 psp

  • sweet again!! XD

  • August 27 i believe

  • Right at the beginning of this scene, don't know if you guys notice this but you can clearly see below Sephiroth's coat, appears to be 2 pair of wings, likely a reference to his Safer Sephiroth form, but the form has 3 pair of wings though.

  • that isn't a reference, all the character in dissidia were designed to fit their appearance as drawn by Yoshitaka Amano. if you look the Amano's artwork of seph you can see that

and actually Sephioth's EX Mode was originally planned to be his Safer Sephiroth form. However, the Safer form would have forced the game to load every time he entered EX Mode due to requiring a completely different model, while other final bosses could be represented simply with texture changes

  • You're right, but that's a poor excuse. They could have easily retooled Safer Sephiroth to have legs with six wings surrounding them just like his cloak normally does. They altered other transformations for the game, they could have changed Safer Sephiroth and fit him in.

  • But having the awesome One-Winged Angel EX Mode, who wants that useless Safer Sephirorh?

  • I do. Compared to the likes of Kuja, Kefka and even Ultimecia, Sephiroth's EX Mode is kinda bland. He gets a wing, woo....

  • At least Sephiroth's is better than Garland's.

What I'm saying is that Sephiroth looks cool with his wing, and Safer Sephiroth would look too awkward using Masamune and having his popular one-winged form as his EX Mode isn't that bad. If Sephiroth could use his wing is some attacks or something in his normal form (like Kefka), then yes, Safer Sephiroth shold've been his EX Mode.

Of course, if that were the case, Neo Exdeath should've been Exdeath's EX Mode.

  • When Sephiroth say, we will meet again, he meant in Advent Children, right?

  • no one knows...

  • i think he just says it to try to psyco cloud lol..

  • Dissidia isn't canon....

  • maybe is canon, but everyone forgot all when they return to their worlds

  • that would be nice

  • SE havent stated weather it is or not, but then again since when has ff been canon?

  • Ultimecia died already. How can she die again?

  • maybe Chaos revive her like the other villains

  • She technically dies an infinite number of times in FFVIII.

  • ...But this is her original form, not true.

  • AC has nothing to do with it.

  • so why Cloud can used his AC costume and sword?

  • alternive costumes like the heroes and villians have.

  • yeah but his one is special, because is complete change of clothes, sword, and even haircut

  • it's not special, just unique, because not all characters have so many changes, but his stats, abilities, etc. remain the same, the only thing that changesis how he and his sword looks

  • its just an alternate costume. not really important

  • poor Cloud, cursed to fight Sephiroth forever, if he have son (but better a daugther) he/she will also cursed to fight the silver freak all his/her life?

  • No, Sephiroth was trying to deceive him. If Cloud cannot accept that Sephiroth is truly gone, then Sephiroth will always return. This cutscene just showed Cloud finally making Sephiroth leave his head.

  • maybe you right, but something tell me even Cloud forgets him, he will find the a way to return (this sound like Freddy from that old terror movie)

  • Lol... that was hard because Cloud always thinks on Sephiroth X3

  • Still, Sephiroth is remain in Cloud's dark past.

He can move forward but cannot erase the past.

  • I don' t remember seeing this cutscenes...damn I have to play the game again.
