Are there any climate effects to having the sump in your basement? I was going to do this too, and was wondering if winter temps make it difficult to maintain accuracy or is it a bonus due to high heat MH lighting?

Love the set up! If I only had that kind of room! Living down South, basements are un-heard of so I have to make the best with the room I have. The wife is never happy come water change day cause I pretty much take over the first floor (two tanks).

Anyways, thanks for sharing the "behind the scenes" of your setup. Sometimes I find this more interesting than the actual aquarium videos. :)
