I am a diehard metal slug fan. i grew up playing metal slug 1, 2, 3, and X in the arcades, i love the plot of a small rebel force and a tank take down an entire dictator's army with stunning detailed graphics and awesome looking vehicles and machines, then when 4 came out it was crap, but i forgave SNK because they still blessed the world with the originals, but this... this trash.. is unforgivable

This boss was easy as shit. Shoot the knee, shoot the head, dodge the orbs. Repeat 6 or 7 times. Game complete.

Aside from the whole "it's not a side-scroller" thing, this game doesn't seem too shabby. It's got good music, the bosses seem cool enough... If memory serves, the only real problem this game has is that it doesn't feel like a Metal Slug game.
