The funniest part is the guy that is laughing his ass off behind the camera. He has a funny laugh...and he was laughing hard..Im glad that they are enjoying themselves.
I can't help but think of Chris Farley.... Fat guy in a little bunk. LOL. This is not meant to be offensive, as I would look almost the same trying to get in the damn coffin bunks... I did get a hell of a laugh from this.
On this same ship, as a Plank owner, i slept in a rack under a shipmate who was 6'4" and he weighed about 320. Every night as he got into his rack, the screws on his rack creaked and I made a sign of the cross, praying that I'd live out the night. TRUTH!

dude this was so awesome. I've never had my family for Tiger Cruise, but my sister did come on the USS Wasp the day we pulled in from deployment. She was so perplexed by the water tight hatches...it was funny.

After watching this again, I realize I could never leave my plush pillow top mattress. I'm too old for that!
MOMofUSsailorONKH 4 years ago
I guess this is why recruits must be within a certain weight range. It pays to be young and skinny! LOL
I was wondering what those beds were like? Is it true they have no padding?
MOMofUSsailorONKH 4 years ago
the mattress is like four inches thick if you want to call that padding

They should have given that guy a top rack. Damn, I'm 5'8" tall and 160# and I wasn't that comfortable in those damned things.

I did a walk through on the Wasp in 2003. Nice ship. We were down on MisEx on HMCS Iroquois, out of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
