  • thats fucked dude..

  • So what was the problem with it? My car makes this exact tick even when revving and driving. It's terrible. I need to fix my G35, but don't want to pay $1000 at the dealership.

  • maybe put some oil in it... not a ping, this is a con rod as mentioned, its done, a major overhaul..

Caused by overheating, over revving and loss of oil to some areas. Gas Octane level has nothing to do with it at this point.

Dealer will say it s a 4K job give or take...

    Sorry

  • What is it with Nissan and this problem my Maxima had the same noise.

  • my huffy had that problem. i just turned off 3 of the 17 turbos and shut off 9 cylinders. sure, reduced power, but still running like 3900 hp...

  • Wow some people here are stupid. Premium is only RECOMMENDED not required. Also, even if you were using regular grade fuel it would only ping under a load, meaning it's being driven.

That sound is related with the engine components itself. Oil treatments take care of that fine.

  • sounds like a knock try higher octane?

  • @sunnyjason congrats, u are officially an idiot :)

  • @magicn3ss so are you.

  • That's a worn connecting rod bearing. Just use 10w30 Redline or Royal Purple group 5 synthetic oil and the knocking sound will decrease immensely.

  • Thats nissan mechanic!! lol

  • just use octane 91 dumbass

  • lol

  • mine has been doing the same thing since 20k. did you find out what it is?

  • Thats a knock not a ping. Vehicles dont ping at idle.

  • outch i feel sorry for the G. sounds like a diesel now LOL
