Guess what I just got chuggaa. Pikmin! I'm on day..3 or 4 and I am about to get that bolt. The last time I played that day, more than 20 of my little piks died just to one of those freaking big bulblax!! So I didn't save that day.

I know why, defenses might be able to do that, but only if they can detect, aim, and fire at it in time. the meteor could have been at a spot where Olimar's ship couldn't detect it in time, so the weapon couldn't blast the meteor before it hit Olimar's ship.

Another idea is; suspension of disbelief

the area up on the ledge by where the nova blaster is is actually where chugga did the little short cut in the first day he was here where he was one pikmin short meaning right when you get yellows you can internally blast your way through the area

actually the bomb picmin died before the bombs they were holding blew up because if you look closely you can see they got hit by the bomb then died and the other bomb blew up the ones they were already holding before they died. just to let you people know :P
