  • 6dislikes....."I'm going to go out of my way separately from my Justin Bieber and Lady gaga just to dislike this Metallica video" Idiots.

  • GOOD JOB..!!!

  • you can actually hear that godly kick drum pattern on this.

    fuck yeah.

  • 5:10 - Soooooooo awesome.

  • Blackened is the END!

  • this is up there with the best metallica songs, and by extension the best songs ever written

  • MY 400 WATT sound system never sounded this good maxed out, and streamed off youtube no less.

  • nice, you fixed the drums too

  • with the added bass i would have to say this is their best album

  • @TheJdog005 and bass drum

  • I think I just shit my pants listening to this.

  • @stratmasta lmao Im getting there too

  • This song fucking rocks one of my favs by metallica

  • i dont know....i really like how this provides "justice for jason"....but in those parts where its just james and lars, the absence of bass makes it seem really empty...so when there was only a little bass, it wasnt as dramatic of a change

  • @arehormeus

I agree! For example, Rob makes this song sound CRUSHING live!

  • I actually think this sounds better

  • omg this sounds so much better with the enhanced bass. metallica fucked up when they made the bass's volume lower then everything else on this album. jason \m/

  • ... And Justice For Chuck Norris :D

  • @Budeluve The song is Raining Blood. The Album is called Reign in Blood. You're both right.

  • @Budeluve um look it up you dumb ass its raining blood by slayer

  • All these years later,so much better :)

  • This needs to be how the remastered version of this album sounds, whenever THAT comes out.

  • does any1 know where i can get this on my ipod?

  • @Chizzy963369 try frostwire its free

  • enhancing metallica songs is like enhancing my penis....just not necessary!!

  • always thought it was fucked up that the only time the bass in heard is in this intro for 30 seconds.

  • this song gave me a huge boner........one of Metallicas best songs

  • i cant hear the bass sounds like the reguler version

  • @blackwolf222403 you must have crappy speakers then

  • @hoikevinhoi no i know when my speakers arnt working i just hear the bass im used to my version which has bass turned up all the way and put extra bass in it

  • @blackwolf222403 Wow if you can't even recognize the bass in a song then get the fuck away from Metallica's, or any metal bands music.

  • @Itachifan186 why would i do that im not going to throw away all 18 cds i have that are metal bands its pointless and a waist of good music and money

  • @blackwolf222403 umad bro?

  • @Itachifan186 ya i dont like when people tell me to stay away from metal music metal is dieing and dont want that to happen so to all people who love metal well metal up your asses and to people who dont and like rap oops i mean crap you were born for dieing and let your blood rain like the song raining blood by slayer cause metal is fing awsome

  • @blackwolf222403 You got trolled. Now go listen to some rap, where you belong.

  • @Itachifan186 no rap can suk my balls its not called rap by the way its called crap

  • @blackwolf222403 Grammar gastapo

  • @Itachifan186 Don't you feel all god damn smart? You spelled Gestapo wrong, dipshit.

  • @TheDawg412 Don't feel all god damn smart? You're relying to a 9 month old discussion that you weren't a part of. Don't put your nose in other people's shit. It fucking pisses me off so much when idiots like you have to go trolling such old comments. Trying to fucking fight on the internet is like the special olympics; it doesn't matter who wins, both parties are still mentally retarded.

  • @Itachifan186 Why, because you start a shitfit and bitch at other people with shitty trolling because one guy said he couldn't hear the bass? Don't post comments where other people can see them if you don't want other people seeing them. PM him next time. Also, next time, instead of reposting a shitty forced meme, come up with something original.

  • @TheDawg412 You know, I don't give 2 shits if other people see them. 1) It's the internet. 2) It's 9 fucking months old. People change over time, buddy, maybe 9 months ago I liked trolling. Maybe now, 9 months later I've gotten past that. Take your head out of your ass.

  • @Itachifan186 Maybe 9 months later you become a faggot who overreacts at just about everything. Obviously you do care if people see it, if you get mad that I replied to you. If I didn't see it, I wouldn't have replied. It's as simple as that.

  • @TheDawg412 I don't care if people see the discussion. But I'm not gonna sit here and take your insults up the ass? You think I'm mad? No, but you came here calling me a dipshit, for a 9 MONTH OLD spelling mistake.

  • @Itachifan186 Because you were acting like a complete dick and like you had such superior intelligence when you couldn't even spell a simple word right. The way you've been responding, I'd think you were mad. HOWEVER, I refuse to give a fuck about this conversation anymore so I think we can end it here.

  • @Itachifan186 Nazi secret grammar police? Really? how retarded is that as a retort

  • @drpureinsanity You're the dumbass replying to 1 year old comments :)

  • @Itachifan186 i know lol i commented only because you didnt like people talking about YEAR OLD comments lol

  • @blackwolf222403 cute...

  • Could have been there best album?

It is their best album. Hands down.

  • man it makes me wanna cry, this record would have been SO FUCKING AMAZING with bass! :(

  • awesome better than the original! =D

  • it sounds soo good

  • Am I the only person who cant hear the bass?

  • @iambeniamben yes you are, actually i think it's a little bit too much bass, but only very very little^^

  • @iambeniamben Are you sure you know what sound a bass produces? The bass can be clearly heard.

  • @iambeniamben Obviously you dont know what bass is if you cant hear, you should be labeled retarded if you cant hear it. its so easy. if you dont know this much about music maybe you should stop listening to it.

  • @iambeniamben The bass is very good! And justice for jason!

  • sounds good both ways. I'm so used to the original that I could never say anything bad about it. Guitarists and drummers like this album, not so much bassists lol.

  • actually i like the clinic sound of AJFA. i don't know why. it sound different than other albums and its cool.

  • the drum is sill messed up, but its much better!

  • Jason is fucking good! Wow, that sounded awesome : )

  • Check out the Between the Buried and Me cover of Blackend

  • Metallica's recordings are always fucked.

Kill 'em All to Master of Puppets, the bass drum was hardly audible and thanks to that, Lars hater keep saying he doesn't do double bass/triplets (which in fact, all songs besides Santirium has double bass) and just when Metallica decides to fix the bass drum, they fuck up the bass guitar.

Seriously. So stupid. The recordings on the Justice album sounds hollow without bass.

Sounds so much better with bass.

Any chance you can remaster the whole album?

  • @dbzsony Sanitarium has double bass during the solo.

  • @AlexHuzar710

    Seriously?

Metallica needs to remaster their albums. All of them.

  • Good but its too loud

  • How about he overall Album sound? That says METAL to me...

  • Ever since I started playing bass I can't listen to this album anymore if it isn't a live version of the songs. Thanks for uploading this, I can hear it the way I want to.

  • It's just their fault, they've preferred to fuck up Jason instead of having a cooler sound...AJFA could have been their best album!

  • It is, all their early albums have been remastered...

  • @Michal076

No, but Metallica should Re-master this and Death Magnetic.

  • sick!!! sounds great...what where they thinking? Hetfields and lrs ego? :(((

    5/5

  • @sleazyduck I think they did it because they missed cliff and wanted to honor him but its still a great album

  • ... And Justice For Jason :D

  • @SuperKirkHammett ...And jason for all =D

  • @SuperKirkHammett Finally...LOL

  • @SuperKirkHammett ...And Jason For All :D

  • @SuperKirkHammett anyone notice the guitar has more edge and more hair with the bass toned down. and the muddyness, and heavyness is increased with the bass.

  • I think something like this would be the only good release metallica are capable of anymore.

  • This is a stretch, but they should re-release AJFA with a bass track. The material on that album is so strong. Such a shame they fucked over Jason by turning the bass off completely on that album.

They could re-mix the guitars a bit too so your speakers don't overload on the low end. Just a thought. Whatever.

  • Agreed!!

  • did you play the overdubs?good!

  • sounds even better than what it already is

    good job!

  • good old metallica.

  • man its awasome good job

  • 5:11 nice

  • @poobearpanda345 that shit was sick right! ive never heard it b4

  • HEY! IT's MISSING like 5-10 seconds at the END !

  • lol

  • 5:11!!! WHAT THE HELL! WHOA!

  • That slide down is sick!!!

  • And then some!

  • @jeleopard

    We all got served...

  • The bass at 5:11 is awesome

  • if they would release an enhanced bass version of justice it would debut at number 1 too i think they should

  • @homer00316 AJFA woulld be a fucking Picaso if they did haha it would put the Black Album to shame

  • @homer00316 ...or maybe it would debut at number 10 trillion!

  • @homer00316 for an album to debut at n1 it had to be bought by more than just metal fans, and outside the metal community few ppl notice the lack of bass

  • wow it actually makes a difference

  • and justice for jason !!! lol but thats ture now we get to hear his real talent!!

  • justice for jason its True...!!! \m/

  • grayfox is right...megadeth is not...retard...nice mgs ref.

  • and she is blind folded cause metallica is trying to push through the point that our government is blind

  • No, she's blind folded because every picture of Lady Justice is blind folded. And that's cause Justice is supposed to be blind in order to not discriminate.

  • Justice is blind

    "an eye for an eye"

  • no, you don´t understand the purpose of "Lady Justice" Justice is blind (it´s an irony) In this case, the justice is really for only a few and not for all (like they try to pretend with the bandana round her eyes)[The irony].

  • Dude, the lady on the album-cover is blindfolded because she's Lady Justice, she's ALWAYS blindfolded, it has nothing to do with Metallica trying to tell anything. :S

  • @megadeth608

    Lady Justice is always blind.

  • need a HQ version...

  • add &fmt=18 to the link up there and refresh page.

  • very nice =)

  • dude no way thats awesome!

  • The bass is mixed perfectly is this one. Fuck whoever the genius was who decided turning the bass completely down in the mixing was a good idea.

  • Hope he is dead....

  • is the cover is the dude holding kidney stones??

  • It's a woman, well a statue. Lady Justice, holding scales, filled with money.

  • What the hell there's no bass on the intro, and besides how can you guys not hear the bass on AJFA? It's the same as any other metal song with bass its not as audible as guitar but you can still hear it.

  • wow better than the original

  • perfect balance anyway

  • i think if u listen to this song closely with the ORIGINAL bass in 1:05-1:23 u could just here the bass but of course u have to listen VERY closely

  • yea there is bass on the album u can hear it in some of the song ajfa too but just barely

  • its the shitty mixing of the album that fucked the bass.

    not jasons playing

  • exactly

  • 4:15 AWESOME

  • they should remaster this album and increase the bass, and do whatever else to make it sound cleaner.

  • james voice is so much crapper now compared to this... if u hear an old school metallica song live now that were made back in the 80s his voice doesnt fit in with the thrash metal style

  • nahh he still got it mann.... when he blew his voice, he was crap for a while, around what like 2004 i thought it was all downhill! now he actually is sounding great live

  • thats cuz over time his voice got deaper. every guys does it. if u get a little kid, VERY HIGH PICHHHH!!! then, get him when hes about 18, still a bit high, then when hes 30, a little deep, thenn 40, quite low. it happends. you cant expect him to sing like he used to. that was over 20 years ago

  • yea and its like that with everyone in thrash metal, listen to dave mustaine or tom araya nowadays, and theyre voices are deep too, and they can't get the same vocal range as they had in the 80s because theyre 30 years older

  • of course it doesn't. he got older, and so did his voice. he's still a great vocalist though

  • i really have no clue what everyone is talking about. i think the mix is ok and there is enough bass i really think everyone listens to the album then people tell them that theres no bass then people go "oh yeah" then try to imagine that theres not enough bass untill thats what they think. ur ganna give me thumbs down but i think criticizm shouldnt be given a thumbs down just because you dont like it and what im saying is going against what you think.

  • i give you thumbs up! you're fuckin wright! you have to find what you find, but you cannot put too less or much bass in a song, it's an opinion!

but true, Newsted himself said there was not enough bass on this album...

    still; tumbs up ;)

  • ya, i know he said that but i think its cool that he did i really do think that bass is important. as a musician in a band, i know exactly how important it is in a band or any type of music. really, i think it does have a lot less bass guitar but i think its fine because its there and i can hear the presence of it and thats really the job of the instrument.

  • Yeah, but Metallica intentionally dialed Jason out of the mix. They never did treat him as an equal, but it was really bad in the beginning.

  • he was a fan with a chance to play in his favorite band and for him that was worth all the crap

  • It got to him eventually though, didn't it?

  • Yeah, poor Jason. They really bullied him. But he took it as a challenge to see whether or not he could fill Cliff's shoes. But they also weren't very confident in him either.

  • in my eyes, jason might not have surpassed cliffs skill as a bass player, but he could def show them he can fill in for someone that's set at such a high standard. jason could do it all, bass, guitar, kick ass vocals. he might not be cliff burton but he's fucking badass either way. sucks they were douchebags to him =/ but anyway, if this album had the bass added originally, it'd be so much better..

  • He played Cliff's stuff for Cliff's stuff for 15 years, and I've never heard complaints about any of his performances until fairly recently. I just don't get it, I guess. On another note, I agree with jphv89's comment about a more perfect balance. Sounds cleaner, instead of that weird "woom-woom" sound coming off of what I'm guessing is the remnants of Jason's bass, have never been completely sure what it is or where it coes from.

  • i've been focusing on that "woom-woom" sound also but i'm sure it comes from the guitars

  • So you know what I'm referring to. That is great because as soon as I posted that, I thought, " I'm gonna sound like a crazy idiot to anyone who reads that." It sounds like reverb from the guitars, not bass. I've heard anyone play bass that sounds like that.

  • yea but jason has confessed in an interview that it was his fault also that there's no bass in this album cause he wasn't there in the studio playing with them. that's what he said

  • Metallica were my favourite band at the time and I skipped college to go buy this lp on the day it was released. I couldn't believe what a crock of shit it was, Some of the songs were ok but that production just killed everything stone dead - going from sounding like the Mega City Symphony Orchestra on 'RTL' and 'Master' to cardboard box drums with no bass. Sorry guys Metallica died when Cliff went through the windscreen.

  • And another thing whilst I'm ranting - Lars commented in kerrang (referring to Dio) that they didn't need 30 foot dragons breathing fire to sell out their shows as the music would do the talking - cut to the Justice tour and the 30 foot collapsing 'Doris' Liberty statue......hmmmm

Metallica/Anthrax at the Manchester Apollo '86 was still one of the best gigs I've ever seen though...........

  • Metallica never died. Metallica lives on; whatever happens. Saw the movie SOME KIND OF MONSTER? that proves Metallica survivded that one thing that killed and will kill so many bands!!!!

  • Oh yeah sorry, I forgot 'Some Kind of Monster' - where the management has to hire a bewildered therapist to get the band to stop hating each other long enough to sit in the same studio to knock out the next identikit 'Tallica 'product'. Even Lars Uncle has to tactfully tell him what a pile of caca his new record is.

  • .....or maybe you meant the bit where Lars cries into his champagne cocktail in his private suite as another Basquait is auctioned off for a squillion dollars. I mean... credit to the band for letting the film be made in the first place but the only driving force behind what's left of Metallica is Peter Mensch and Cliff Bernstein screwing as many bucks as they can out of you for yet another limited special edition cd in a tin can or something

  • @mrbrick1970

Sounded angrier with just the guitars...This album fucking decimates....I skipped To_Live_Is_to_Die originally while listening to AFJA because the beginning sounded a little uninteresting and slow...then when it started kicking in I was dumbstruck shitless.

  • they should re release the album like this

  • Are there any mids at all in their tone on this song (or on the album)? This song is wicked, and the bass is a special treat, but I wish they'd've spent a little more time tweaking their tone knobs a bit more: it literally hurts my ears to listen to it.

  • when doris got closer to my display i got frightened!

  • this is the perfect bass!! you can hear it very well but not too much

  • ... And Justice for Newstedt

  • But it's an injustice that you misspelled his name.

  • the best added bass version i've heard

  • And Justice for... Jason!

  • 5:12 there's a badass bass slide down the strings

  • Correction: Up the strings.

  • no, down the strings.

  • Up is towards the Head of the guitar, making a lower sound. Down is toward the body, making a higher sound. I play bass. That's sliding UP the strings, but the pitch goes DOWN.

  • Gotta say I do it differently myself, but whatever works for you.

  • slide up = note up

    slide down = note down

    fact.

  • absolutly awesome! i want the whole record remixed like this!

  • 2:44

    Godlike.

  • Intro sounds so much more epic with bass. Even though it already was already to begin with.

  • this is my favorite album, but it wouldve been better with some bass cause it sounds more brutal!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bass players follow the guitar to an extent.... like someone said below... a good bass player throws his own in.

  • He was the new guy, so I bet he was afraid to step on anybody's toes, especially James'. After this album, you hear a lot more personality and originality in his playing.

  • i personally find that this is jasons best bass work. I can actually hear the bass on the album and ive looked at the notes and i find that note wise it's just just as good as Cliff. Not as innovative but he plays like a true metalhead on this album. Shame his talents were hidden after this.

  • Thats the price of being a newbie in a Monster like Metallica :/....they hated Jason at 1st....they aimed the anger of cliffs death toward Jason

  • That is actually Jason's bass track. The video is a rip of someone else's who has used the Rock Band version to extract Jason's track and turn it up. Only difference with this one is that the bass has been turned down slightly.

  • Damn ... I hate James and Lars, because they fucked up sound of this awesome track ... It is totaly fantastic with bass! Jason!
