  • @TejasM14 Yup that's what I meant, music is all the same at the end of the day!

  • EXCELLENT!!

    ******

  • i like it !!

  • Quite compelling! Thanks for sending!

  • Interesting and great performance

  • An outstanding and spiritual piece of music. In the end that is what she does, in my opinion, spiritual execises in sound. One shall see beyond.

  • ' Even if she slips a little during explanation, one must take it in the right spirit. It takes usually 30 Great years of practice to master what she is Playing in 'Phenomenal speed' So, yes Ghamakas would be harder to play than plain notes. But, I have never seen Rajam Madam slip even while she used to Practice such things. So that is something we all try to 'Emulate'. Kala is definitely closest there. Best, Namaste

  • Hi all who have commented on her Playing these 'Intricacies' and Ghamakas of Gaayaki-ang genre, on the Fiddle/ Violin. Firstly, she is playing at the 'Top of the Most difficult things one can attempt in Dr. N. Rajam madam's style.

  • Brilliant - an absolute magician on the violin in Madhuvanti. Thanks for the post Pieter.

  • I would say that virtuosity at the expense of correct pitch isn't extraordinary. What she was doing in the lesson had very poor pitch sense.

  • Do you know anything about Indian classical music? I'm just asking because if you did, you probably wouldn't say that. She is doing gammak at the beginning. When you play gammak the pitch is suggested, not exact. Kala Ramath is a master of her instrument and totally in control of it.

  • He's got a point..

  • Classical music is an aquired taste. Indian notes and 'western' notes do not correspond to each other. Thus 'pitch sense' is a subjective sense that depends on one's cultural background.

  • Extremely good piece. Her control on the instrument is total. Thanks for the posting.
