Jason Cooper is the drummer for The Cure. Get over it, or just fucking die. It's not 1989 anymore (thank Christ) and the world changes. Maybe it's time these complaining "fans" grew up.

The Cure is great because Robert does not give a shit about the critical opinions of others. He has kept the band fresh while others take the "greatest hits" nostalgia road. This is why they continue to be great.

I'm starting to think, is the drum tech to blame for Jason? I mean, the drop in volume compared to other instruments, the generally shit EQ, the odd mic placement...if he's using such an expensive kit, what the hell is going on? He has a good no thrills technique, his snare and bass drum should sound better.

both boris and jason are great drummers, but the sound tech guys aren't doing they're job for Jason. At first i didn't like jason but he has gotten better and does a very good job. I'm just glad they got Porl back cause he's the man! and yes theyre truly lacking without the keyboards! 08 album was ok but they haven't been up to par since before the last album in 04. they're still good but just lacking something lately. folks, don't insult people cause you don't like their opinion, its immature

i m coming directly from a musician forum where drummers are laughing&complaining at The Cure's drummer. I couldnt believe mr. Robert Smith hired an "incompetent" (many call him that and other offensive names) drummer for his band but after watching -specially- Push, Just like heaven, Inbetween,etc. from the Madison S.G. and from Rome I came to the conclusion that The Cure is not the same without former drummer Boris Williams and the drummers at the forum were right.

Jasons a fine drummer, there no doubt abou that, it just seems that his drum tech, or at least the amplification of his drums are shotty lately. Sounds like a plastic tub, or a dull plate, when hitting the snare especially. But,, he is good drummer technically for sure, what the Cure is missing is keyboards, most songs played now without keyboards sound dull, or less full or melodic than before.
