Guys...OBVIOUSLY this is the story of Pumpeii. Mount Vesuvius was Pompeii....

I understand how alike the two scenarios are...in fact, they both happened in the same year! However, Mount Vesuvius erupted in Pompeii, Italy on August 24th. This equally horrific event occurred on October 31st that same year.

Pumpeii is unfortunately overlooked as a "close second" simply because it was less popular at the time. Thank you, Ed, for sharing their forgotten story with the world.
