  • This is my favourite song! While all my friends listen to nikki minaj I'm listening to a string quartet:)

  • I cant believe i just come across this now :) its so angelic and peaceful

  • the yngwie malmsteen version of this song is by far the best i've ever heard

  • absolutely beautiful - Well Done !!!

  • This is great, I love it =]

  • i love this song and i can play it too!!!!!!

  • Glorious!

  • finally a good tempo! =) A lot of ppl tend to speed through it. love the quartet!

  • wasn't this in Titanic?

  • curse the quality D;

but i love this song with all my heart. i have 5 versions of it on my ipod.

    <3

  • i want these guys to play at my wedding

  • I can't decide which way I love this best, the string quartet or the solo piano. Screw it, they all win. Great upload.

  • thanks for the upload!

  • I'll see you when you get there. Coolio

  • i love this version bcuz:

    a) its in the original key :D (since i hav perfect pitch i sometimes get annoyed when something isnt in the original key)

    b) it is totally accurate with the notes

    c) it has FEELING!!! :)

  • @musicmarianne4

dont forget the good tempo! =) agreed

  • @musicmarianne4 the key is not affected by pitch. originally there was no set pitch and back when this was written in the 1600s and at this time the pitch in europe was known as the baroque pitch which is 415hz (apprx) there was no set pitch until 1930 when it was set to a standard of 433hz so d major is still d major whether the pitch is different or not. it is the notes that decide the key not the pitch. therefore to tune a violin to baroque u can just tune the strings down a semi tone ok

  • it should be illegal to play this on any other instrument but a string instrument

  • @ellab86 but this sounds awesome on piano, too, and even some brass instruments

  • It makes you run through a field of grass making you fall into the flowers and gently close your eyes under the warm sun in the middle of a valley

  • it is best on strings...

  • I love the slow tempo :)

  • Extremely well done! Most performances I hear of this piece are... let us say rushed. The song is built around building towards a climax and far too often the song is rushed in order to get there. These performers show incredible restraint, not undermining the foundation for the sensation. When done right, the build-up enhances and is not simply something to get through on your way to something else.

  • played beautifully.

  • this is awesome ><

  • IMHO this just may be the most perfect piece of music ever written. It is written that we can not fathom, God's voice..... its hard to imagine. as beautiful as this is, how much more sweet his must be

  • makes me want to cry, its so beautiful

  • i can play this on piano ^,^

  • Moves my soul to a place near heaven.

  • It has a very nice melody. It makes me want to sleep. The pattern repeats on the Violin II and Violin III. The Cello is just eight notes and repeat it again.

  • i wish my school had a string quartet so i could play this with them =(

  • @metalheadlass mine does and im in one the senior string quartet

  • @metalheadlass im in a senior string ensemble even better lol

  • great

  • WOW, awesome playing! I wish I could be in a quartet too!

  • this one is a bit slow...

  • Nice, really good.

  • anyone know the site where i can play this piece in cello, thnx :)

  • should be longer :(

  • man i lost mi music for this.!!!

  • when my orchestra plays this piece we do it fast. I like the more SLOW style. BTW to the violist out there, the pitsacatto (?) part is the ALL TIME easiest part, but the viola pat is pretty easy.

  • Whilst I do enjoy the faster tempo used by a lot of chamber orchestras, the puritan in me appreciates a quartet playing the canon just as the composer intended.

    Very nice indeed.

  • playing something fast doesn't mean its better. In this case, I think playing slower and with better intonation sounds better overall

  • beautiful! i'm playing this for my next concert at school as a quartet!

  • the tempo is correct, this is a perfect origional version

  • well upload the video of that magnificent concert...

  • @rubzemilia not really out of tune

  • i always get the boring parts being in 2nd violin also

  • i'm a celiist too and i always get the boring part. sooo frustrating

  • cello players always complain :D

we viola players keep it real. if you want an exciting part play the violin.

  • I know right =), we viola's keep it real.

We usually get the easy part. =D

  • @khang1e no! haha i can play the violin version on the viola easy!

  • haha, same here. But i tend to get lost on beat when i hit the main melody part. 3 1 2 3

  • @khang1e oh on the part of the high a's that are like 16th notes and slurred? just keep practicing

  • Yea, and for some reason. I lost the music sheet D:< but i still remember 3/4 of the music though.

  • @khang1e oh cool

  • i absolutely think this is beautiful classical music is very relaxing

  • so damn sad <3

  • It's supposed to be a happy piece! Pachelbel wrote it specifically for a wedding.

  • this is smooth , clean , soft and high class

  • If you've been playing the cello for 10 years; you should indeed know by now that different people have different tastes. And you that (probably) has the ability to play the kind of music you like and listen to the music you like. Should not go on YouTube and watch videos of music you do not like, and absolutly not weaken the sensation that other gets from watching these videos by spamming/flamming such as your comment(s?).

Soz to you other ppl for wasting your time if you read this.

  • i totally agree with that!

  • @ManjiVegeta well said, but too bad it won't stop people from doing it... they do it because they want to assert that their "tastes" are better than everyone else's, most likely because their mothers doted on them too much when they were young and when they got out into the real world, their subconscious realized that they are not better than anyone else (despite what their mothers told them) and their left brains are trying to compensate by acting out on youtube by berating others' tastes

  • @ManjiVegeta

I find your etiquette quite refreshing if i do say so myself good sire ;D

  • i like it

  • That's probably because you play the cello, which as you this piece doesn't favor.

  • Excellent, very well played.

  • LOVE DA SONG. plays the first violin but don't have the rest of the group to play it with :(

  • the tempo is just fine ... clarity of each notes... 5 stars

  • It is far too slow. :-(

  • LOL at my school I'm more advanced then the first violin so we switched parts she now has the 8 note that are repeated like 50 times and I have the fun part!!!!! We even switch places :) I luv it!

  • I think that the mistakes just remind us its being played by human beings.

    Well done peoples

  • professionals dont make mistakes...or at least that many

  • haven't got a clue what you're talking about, that was beautiful

  • you#re right tzhere are many mistakes.....

  • I am a cellist and still love this song. However, I also play the violin and piano, so I can switch it up in the quartet! Without the cello's line the song just wouldn't be the same.

  • @misty20002 Exactly! The cello anchors the whole piece....

(sorry for such a late reply)

  • I love this version. This is the one i want on my wedding. Its the perfect tempo and its the perfect lengths:)

  • i feel bad for cellos because they have such a repetitive part to this beautiful song. I feel bad...lol but i'm a violinist soo i'm okay

  • I think It's too slow. Doesn't the cello have 2 measures of those 8 notes in the beginning...like...by him/her self?

And the first violin rushed beginning those eight notes.

And I hear some slightly slightly out of tune notes.

  • Well, geez.

Just enjoy it like the rest of us.

  • me 2, but no one cares because its beautiful anyway.

  • helluva cello part

  • Absolutely beautiful.

But such a dull, mundane life one must lead if one is a cellist in a string choir.

  • haha, as long as you dont spend to much time on cannon in d your fine hahaha

  • I love the speed, it is not too fast, but it isn't too slow it is more of a wedding tempo. I want to learn the violin so bad, but I haven't been able to find a teacher....

  • haha how ironic !

i plan to have this song played right after i get married ! lol well in the future , you dont need a violin teacher , u can go to the musci stores and find books and if u need more help get a web cam , and get tutoring online . i did it with just the books , well cello that is [: goodLuck with learning the violin !

  • Lol but the cello part for Canon in D is like.

    D. A. B. F#. G. D. G. A. Over and over for like 36 times. It's pretty easy.

Violin part is more challenging (but not too much) because of the faster notes, and integration with the rest of the quartet because at least one person is playing the two measure you just played.

  • in my opinion, its too slow....

  • well, that's called pros

  • beautiful.

  • this is the best version i've heard of this amazing song

  • Bravo

  • beautiful ... I am fascinated ...

  • does anyone know where i can get the music from? like a website for violin and viola?

  • google it

  • this is such a beautiful song.... jeez nearly to dears how pretty it is

  • Simply wonderful.

  • where can you find tha pice on music 4 an orchestra????? :)

  • perfect

I play the guitar version ( canon rock )

but it can't never be as much perfect as the string version

  • well , ei suppose that its because this music is made for string instruments like violin , viola , cello or double bass. not saying that Canon Rock guitar version is bad , but its more suitable for classic intruments (: it will still have that feeling of classical music . relieves stress :D

  • seems logical ^^

but electric guitar give it another feeling too, personally, I think pintch harmonic and the speed of canon rock give more screaming-out-loud joy feeling to the song

this string version give it more a calm but powerful joy feeling

both version are perfect to my ear :)

  • agreed

  • well said.

  • yeah canon rock is kick ass but this cassical version sorta makes u ... love life

? lol . i say canon rock releases stress and canon cassical makes u calm and peacefull ^^

  • my favorite song

  • I love this song! I have been looking for this version for forever. I definently want a string quartet to play on my wedding day!!

  • Good job! It was done well. Bravo, Bravo!!

  • Comment removed

  • supposed to be

  • i taught myself to play the first violin part by ear

  • So you know all three violin parts now, haha!

  • I want this for my wedding song. exactly this too, a string quartet. :D

  • absolutely fantastic.

  • we like how the cello goes....bwoooom bwooooom bwooomm bwoooom bwooooom bwoooom etc etc.....=]
