  • lol william lane craig is so boring and long winded I literally fell asleep, nojoke. I just woke up 30 minutes later with the laptop on top of me with william lane craig still spouting nonsense with his whining voice.

  • I am certainly no atheist, but Crossley did great, especially when compared to the likes of Peter Atkins, Lawrence Krauss, and the very overrated Sam Harris. And he did it without being condescending, arrogant, and without personal attacks.

I very much enjoyed this debate.

  • @MrProfTeach Hi, you should check out Craig's debates with Shabir Ally.

  • it could not be easier.. there is NO HISTORICAL EVIDENCE for jesus resurection. anyone who says other-wise is simply LYING.

  • OMG! That AWESOME!!! theists started to read The Bible!!! ;) I love this debates! Godbless!

  • BOTH Paul and Peter writes duly appointed human officials are to be regarded as God's servant to "bear the sword" and governors are to promote the general welfare of the community only where laws are in effect. To decieivng spirits and doctorines of demons EVERY creature of God is good.

  • I can understand some people liking Craig's extremely polished & well rehearsed presentations, although personally I find him a too formulaic & mechanical now, having watched dozens of his debates. Crossley was amateurish, but I liked his casual, unpretentious style.

But surely what they say is more important that how they say it?

I thought Crossley did very well. Craig was repetitive, he repeated points that Crossley had already refuted & ignored some of his arguments, which were very solid.

  • guy have no legs to stand on or what

  • Ludeman may have such opinions but they are obviously due to his transitioning from one belief system to another. I truly hesitate to put much stock in anything he says because of that. Furthermore, there simply is no evidence for the historical Jesus, even the Josephus claim is specious due to the discovery that the Jesus reference was added much later than the original text. As for Ehrman, you're kidding, right?

  • @MrSnowglober: The genetic fallacy, the ad-hominem fallacy, the begging the question fallacy, the naturalistic explanatory fallacy. Is there anything else you feel like adding to the list, Mr SnowGlober?

  • This is the first debate I seen and wow.... Crossley was pawn! Even to a eye of a newbie, he massively failed. Vampires? S. Holmes? Dude, really?

  • The xian speaker is a complete try-hard. It is SO funny to listen to such "scholars" because all they cite are the canonical gospels, which are LITERATURE/FICTION, not empirical evidence. I love how he calls his "evidence" "facts"....soooo not!! This is why it is completely pointless to argue with a religious believer, they insist on using fiction to back up their argument! It's like wearing rose-colored glasses with blinders on and hands over their ears.

  • @MrSnowglober Virtually all new testament scholars who aren't Christians will still tell you that you can get historical facts about Jesus out of the gospels; they don't just relegate it to fiction. It's actually impressive what some people will admit historically about Jesus even as they try to fight the faith. For example Gerd Ludemann and Bart Ehrman are two examples of guys who debate against Christianity and believe in the empty tomb of Jesus.

  • @MrSnowglober

"all they cite are the canonical gospels, which are LITERATURE/FICTION, not empirical evidence"

You do realize that's what this entire debate is about, don't you? You're arguing in a circle here: "The evidence isn't reliable because it isn't reliable".

"they insist on using fiction to back up their argument!"

There you go I again. Let's have a debate between you and Craig entitled "Is Xianity a Fiction"? I'd love to see how you do after being called for begging the question.

  • I would give anything to see Burton L. Mack debate Williams L. Craig.

  • In case people are wondering, the UK Jesus Seminar has no relation to the one in the US.

  • What is the difference? Apart from it being in a different country?

  • Was jesus descended from the line of the David as the gospels tell us;through Joseph( although two gospels have two differnt accounts of his lineage through the family tree of joseph his father)or was he born of a virgin as the gosels also tell us Which is true. Both can't be? Also did Judas hang himself as in the gospels or did his stomach burst in the middle of a field as in ACTS. which is true? Both can't be.Or is the Bible an unsound and contradictory book on which to base your morality?

  • Aha.... so you are posting this on every Christian page I see.. lol.. well brother. check your youtube mail and you will have your answers. Why do what you are doing bro... dont get it but hey... here are your answers. God Bless

  • answers would be nice ...hence my questions

  • so what is your answer to my questions as posted..

  • He was born of virgin and from the line of David. Census goes thru the father, ie Joseph. Judas did hang himself, and his bowels did burst when he was thrown over the cliff. Look up Jewish laws regarding the sabboth. Judas' dead body was hanging inside city limits on the sabboth, which was against the law, so they probably thru his body off a cliff (outside the city limits) which would cause his guts to explode. Making both NT accounts accurate, and non contradictory.

  • Judas hung himslef in the middle of the field accoding to the greek. What Cliff do yuo refer to? If you read MILLS books from the 18th century he finds 30,000 mistakes in the copyists of the N.T. I will send more to you as a personal message as this does not allow the space to mention all of them. The bible is not faultless ,The Lineage for jesus is , incidentally differing in lengths as well as Grand fathers. There are two and they are both different , Which lineage are you referring to?

  • I give Craig 1 over Crossley for better presentation but I like Crossley's argument about the Ressurection of the saints (Mat 27:52). Here you have an example of an early story invented about the Ressurection of the dead so why could you not have also in the case of Jesus.

  • "Here you have an example of an early story invented about the Ressurection of the dead"

    Who says it was invented?

  • SCIENCE

  • "

    Who says it was invented?"

Virtually everyone who isn't a Christian.

  • NAzam44"

Yeah, well good luck telling the fundamentalist Christians that the dead didn't actually walk the streets. Despite it being found no where in history they still believe it.

If dead people came out the grave and were seen by many, it would be apart of world history told by everyone and not just one gospel that has this special event not found in the other gospels.
