@servingthealiens I don't think it's about his rhythm or technique he has. There's something about him and the way he dances that gives it life and soul. Some absolutely perfect dancers can never do that no matter how hard they try. James is able to express the emotions he probably can't express in normal life through his dancing and that is what touches people. Not if he's perfect or not.
This kid is SHIT. He has no emotion, rhythm, or feeling to his dance and it communicates nothing. He also loses his balance at multiple points and the whole routine is extremely sloppy. He's very flexible but not at ALL creative or talented. What trash. Glad he didn't win.
@LiL1986 If you start trying to not be a FUCKING CUNT I might. I know what autism is. I know how it probably affects this boy and his dance style. My point is he's NOT that good, he's good for **a kid with autism**. There were better competitors. It's right he didn't win. I commend him for doing what he did and admire how far he's come, but HE'S NOT THAT GOOD AT DANCE.
With training this kid can become an amazing professional dancer. The fluidity, grace of movement, flexibility and control over his body, is amazing for an eleven year old that has only been dancing for three years. I think he has tonnes of potential and wish him all the best.
i love james hobley :')! i saw him live at his tour in edibnurgh and he blew me a kiss! he had me in tears for most his preformances! hes just so talented <3
@blackandproud75 Haha, not everything boils down to racisum, which is what you're clearly saying.
People like you make me laugh, colour has absolutely nothing to do with talent, just so it happens that white people have won, more times means NOTHING, I personly thought Razzy was best, yes, he white, but he's ROMANIAN, so it's the same thing, not because of colour, or POD.
When people like you point this shit out it's the reason why racisum is still here.
If this is not Njinsky reincarnated I shall die unhappy. As it is he is - he is an absolute genius Ninette de Valois, Pavlova and Fonteyn and thingybob would've fluttered their arms at him. He is BRILLIANT. (I can still do 3rd position btw). SO THERE YOU FUCKING ARSES from a little girl who wanted to be a ballerina - but grew too small and fat
People. Please do not dispair because of all the as*holes on this thread. They're mostly just trolls trying to stir up sh*t and get your goat. The real haters on here that aren't trolls are just demonstrating their tiny souls and envious lack of their own talent. A plague on all of their houses. Small bitter people - if you can even call them people - pigs would be better, but wouldn't be fair to the innocent animals called pigs.
Well done James! This kid is amazing and so inspirational. Despite what he's been through and what he'll continue to go through for the rest of his life, I'm sure he'll make the most of his talent and passion for dancing. James has inspired me to register with the National Autism Society to become a 'Befriender'. Anyone one else with a few hours a week to spare why not register too?
He's amazing, but Amanda just felt for him. She kept saying how he overcame so much -.-' He's an amazing kid, beautiful dancer. But that's why he was on the show.
He is a beautiful child a beautiful dancer I've never seened anyone dance like him! And to all these 10 and 11 yr olds talking crap and hating cuz they wasn't good enough just shut the hell up and swallow it..I feel very sorry for all of y'all for not having supportive parents to help your dreams come true..this child isn't being pitty on he is amazing and living his dreams! I bet that most of y'all putting these nasty comment go to his school or live in his neighborhood

@LittleDirttMonzter Did not realize he was autistic! Genuinely didn't either! I saw him perform on tv. Thought what a gayboy. So came on here without watching this video (which I still actually haven't) to slate him for looking queer!
Seriously didn't know he had that up with him... I got a cousin who's autistic as well which makes it worse!!
But in my defence, what I look like does not actually have anything to do what I said lol
@blackandproud75 What about Diversity? White has got nothing to do with it, it all boils down to talent and the people who vote for them. If you have a problem, maybe you should contact Syco Productions to file a complaint.
But don't take it out on the boy, when he has done nothing
Learn to not be so stupid and assumptious. Just because someone dances, it doesn't mean he is gay. It's ok for you to insult people, because you hide behind a computer screen, but one day, you will say the wrong thing, to the wrong person and will get into trouble.
@coxey1000 That's it...hide behind your computer, whilst you call a boy with mild autism, a cunt. It really shows what a nice person you are.
How do you know he is gay?
Queer means weird and you're basically saying that it is weird to be gay. And whether or not, he has yellow teeth, is it for you to be horrible and say that.
I'm not a fan simply because he dances like a woman. Men can dance this style yet maintain their male role, it's done all the time. He needs better choreography to refocus his mannerisms.
@Imogen1885 James IS autistic!!!! He does NOT have aspergers. I've heard so much drivel from people in the last few days saying he can't be autistic because he can talk!! Try using your computer to look up autism rather than insult an 11 year old child!!
@Queen JoJo I know a great deal about Asperger's Syndrome and autism. I know also that it is over-diagnosed. James may have mild Asperger's but autism is a serious disorder and the two should not be classified together. Why did he go on and announce he is autistic anyway? To get sympathy vote? I did not insult an 11 year old child. I said he is not a terribly good dancer at this point. And he is not.
@Imogen1885 I know the family and I know that James is most definatly autistic. If he isn't a good dancer then how did he get 5th place in the biggest comp of the year?

One other thing. James came 5th in the biggest dance competition of the Freestyle calender last year. So that does make him a good dancer!!!
@Imogen1885 Asperger's is Autism. I was diagnosed with Asperger's at 17 and it is a MILD form of Autism. It is not as severe as other forms of Autism but Asperger's is certainly a form of Autism.
@Little Dirty Monster Everybody has autism these days. It's like the flu, it's been going round for years. I'm just fed up with people coming of these talents shows and claiming they were bullied in school or they have autism or tourette's. We've all got something. Stop going for the sympathy vote.
@Imogen1885 He didn't whine about it. His bullying was so severe his mum had to take him out of school......you ever been bullied to that extent, cos if you had you'd understand!!!!!
My guess is that even though he is 11, he might actually know how to spell "disgrace"...you on the other hand, obviously don't even now how to say it.
@CRACKpowBOOM he's an inspiration, not disceace to man kind. words cant describe how amazing he is at what he does. dont like? dont watch it on youtube and put hatfull comments all over the internet! people want hope and encment to come into their lifes, not hatefull remarks. i'ld like to see you try to do what he does, coz i did and i landed flat on my face!! he's magical to watch, so take your hate and shove it up ur arse!!*

I know he's not the best dancer but your commenting on the way he looks and his autism rather than his dancing. Yes, he did get the sympathy vote but a lot of people are calling him a retard, clearly these people have never seen a mirror.
CRACKpowBOOM needs to learn some basic social skills. My advice is to get out of your basement and explore the world around so you find it easier to accept people who are different to you. ;)
@CRACKpowBOOM just becouse your jelous that you cant do what he can do you need 2 get a life you nasty person calling an 11 year old aurtistic child that your the one who is a discrace
@CRACKpowBOOM just becouse your jelous that you cant do what he can do you need 2 get a life you nasty person calling an 11 year old ortistic child that your the one who is a discrace
hey just cos i called him a retard ..... he is what he is.... a retard..... he has very limited talent... and many many kids better than him... (and not as ugly)... and as for me not having any talent... lol.... you dont know who i am...... you would be surprised..... believe me......
James Hobley is an amazing young dancer with so much passion and potential too. He is such an insperation to others with autsim, showing that he is determined no matter what. My 4 year old son has autism, and when he see's jimmy performe he cannot take his eyes off the screen. He asks everyday to watch it again lol thank god for sky+ lol.
some of you people need to understand that james is a CHILD and your nasty comments could damage his self esteem. its not fair leave him alone!!!
@vedderfan94 thats really harsh its not because of that at all, for him to get on that stage and do that, he got through because hes 1 of the most talented there, and even though hes got autism hes proveing nothing can stop u from acheiving your dreams, and autism can be a horrible thing.
@DemiKS3 Fuck you... I am around his same age and I have got it too, and I have dreams!!! But do I get all the help he get's? No. Do I get a chance. Nope. What about have everybody pitying me and kissing my ass. NO. One day I'll make it bigger than this kid without ANY of you. I don't need you...
@Grantofglyn 1st of all why are u attacking me what have i said? im defending this kid because someone in my family might have autism, and have u even done anything to follow your dreams he had the guts to get on there and do it do u? putting autism aside u have to start from somewhere like he did.
@Grantofglyn With attitudes like you have, I doubt you'll ever be anything but a cynical jealous pig, just like you're being right here. Good luck on success - you'll need it. You certainly have no campassion.
@DemiKS3 I'm not saying it isn't a horrible thing. The point I'm making is that whenever the judges comment on a performance from him, they always mention something relating to 'how far he has come' and a lot of is just sympathy for him having autism. Millions of other people have autism so I don't see why he should be seen as some incredible human.
Awh, hes made Redcar proud whether he wins or not tonight ! For his age and the short time hes been dancing, hes amazing and has quite a talent. Saw him on his way down to London on Tuesday for the semi-final -- fingers crossed for tonight !!
James is growing like a weed! He's gained several inches in the last few months. Fortunately it doesn't seem to have affected his dancing. His voice has also dropped, so it looks like early puberty for James.
What do I know about this style of dance, Not alot. But I had wondered if my audio was off or was James not in synch or was it paramount that the dancer move always in time with the music? I really like his story and see he is passionate and I hope he gets all the schooling that this kind of exposure may encourage. He seems to have all the atributes a dancer needs physically and as far as looks; (some comments here have been unkind and unwarranted) he looks just fine.
@claztube From what I can tell from the style, which British people call "disco"... there doesn't seem to be a lot of choreography coinciding with music, just a lot of "tricks" taken from Jazz and Acro. You should watch the BBC documentary about him and that style called Austism, Disco, and Me... I'm personally not a fan of the style, but I think that James has a lot of potential, despite my comments that I think that he's getting voted through for the wrong reasons.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
should of been gay and alan. I mean james is such a gay. "Whats your name?" "James" "What are you doing" "Dancing" ..... I know he has autism or whatever but come on, no ones gonna vote for him in the final compared to Ronan and Les etc. Gay and Alan would of had a chance.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This Retard should never of got this far, He dances out of time and he is not talented, and on top of that he is plum UGLY..... with his SUICIDE HAIR......(DYED BY HAND). I made a cup of tea when he came on.... it was so sick to see all the judges voting for the idiot.... better acts than this knob.......
@alvinucsk110 I wouldn't expect that kind of comment from anyone. Tell me, would you laugh about cancer? I find it unbelievable that saying somebody has cancer would not be taken as a joke and yet, you think its OK to use the word "retard" or to label a disease such as Autism. Many do not realize that it is very offensive and that there is something seriously wrong about it. He's a lot talented than you will EVER be and I think you need to think before you put an inappropriate comment like that.
It's a shame really that the anonymity of the internet empowers all these pathetic disgusting people to say things that they obviously would not otherwise.
I suppose the saddest thing is that now we know they must think like that all the time.
I'm not trying to be mean - but it feels like he can dance to the music more....I mean...he didn't do something really different at the 'exciting' part of the song...
Amanda said it: Platform. The show is a platform more than anything, technique can be learnt, even musicality! But passion is either there or not. This show has been a perfect platform for him, since his appearances he has received a place at prestigious dance school and he said not many schools would consider him because of his autism. So this show has done his future wonders! Things will only get better for him
I kind of find it refreshing that the choreography wasn't the best in the world, because it made the performance all about his passion and his love of dance and his connectivity to the music. He's talented and will only get better with age.
you obviously dont really understand dance if you think its all about choreography. dance is an expression of how you feel, and this guy expresses himself gorgeously
He is incredibly flexible and obviously has a passion for dance that I admire but he desperatley needs a good choreographer and needs to take some technique classes because I am sad to say that this is really bad! He has potential but if he carries on like this will never succeed professionally
@dancefreak0292 please remember he is still only relatively new to dance... AND he has only been doing ballet for the past year!! I think to achieve that sort of dance ability, with or without autism, is an achievement in itself...!! He has been accepted into a very prestigious ballet school for next year so im sure this will enable him to take his dance technique to the next level. There arent many boys of his age with his ability!
@yutbeog. He is 12 years old, why on earth would you even begin to make an analogy to a 25 year old female? What an idiotic remark. We like him because he is a very talented untrained dancer who has overcome some hard times and is still doing so. Remarks like yours are so unnecessary and dressed up with a sweetener by saying he is good. I see the whole person not just the dancer the same as others are doing.
Let me start by saying that he's shit. I don't care if he's a quadrapalegic war veteran wheelchair user with no legs who's miraculously learnt to dance. I want to see talent, not talent acording to age range/ background. That's the bad thing about these shows; a 25 year old female dancer could leave the show while someone could stay in because they have the sob story.
@muffin8or A 25 year old dancer shouldnt need to be on this type of show if they actually have a talent.....cos they'll already be out working and living the dream......... just saying......
You have no idea how the world wroks. There are thousands of dancers better than this guy, better than george sampson but are not 'living the dream'. They haven't had the opportunity or the market is too saturated with dancers for them to catch a break. There isn't a lot of money in stage performance. My old drama teacher told us that he always had a second job whether he was in work or out; you can't live on what they pay you
The thing i dont like about James is that if he was a 25 year old female, doing the EXACT same thing, No-one would care for that person. People are only making a fuss because who he is, not just what he does.
@yutubeog I actually agree with you, take away his story and all you will see is an untrained dancer that uses his flexibility to show off! If he gets properly trained he would be amazing but at the moment he is average and I dont understand all the fuss!
@yutubeog Why do you think it's a bad thing to like him more because of his story? The adversity that he's overcome to get to where he is makes his achievement greater. Watching his performance and considering just what he does seems cold and detached to me. To isolate his talent from his story dehumanizes the experience of watching him dance. It's a much more compelling experience to consider the gestalt of his being rather than just what he does.
@DaaimM It's hard to understand I am from redcar and the audition was in november his learning abilty has stepped up and he started late january ;) even look at his facebook!!! haha xoxo
It's not just about the technique, it's about how passionate he is for this, you can see his love for dance shine in his performance, and that's a quality you can't learn. So instead of trying to put him down, why not just enjoy his performance and admire him for never giving up? It takes guts to repeatedly stick your neck on the line to try and achieve your goals. He's just amazing, in my opinion :)
But he's already been on two other shows! How many times is he going to go through, and get more chances than everyone else because he's autistic? I'm glad that Les got the top vote, because I honestly think that James might be going through for the wrong reasons - Great dancer for his age, not technically great. I don't mean to sound hostile, but I've seen him before... He should try So You Think You Can Dance in a few years, where they'll judge for the right reasons and be constructive.
@SgtPepperGirl The reason he's going on all these shows is because he wants to dance professionally and his family cannot possibly afford to send him to a professional dance school without sponsorship or a scholarship- which arent v readily available. My school was 45k for three years!!!I was lucky to go!
Hes putting himself out there so he can open up his chances of having a career as a dancer...which with the right training is completely within his reach. he's only 11&so much potential!

You are so fucking stupid!
Autism is a social and communcation disorder, it's a disability. It's not like the flu, something you catch that's been going around.
You can't catch Autism, it's inherited or you get diagonosed with it. It's not a disease or something that everyone can catch.
Do you even know what Autism is?

@Queen JoJo I know a great deal about Asperger's Syndrome and autism. I know also that it is over-diagnosed. James may have mild Asperger's but autism is a serious disorder and the two should not be classified together. Why did he go on and announce he is autistic anyway? To get sympathy vote? I did not insult an 11 year old child. I said he is not a terribly good dancer at this point. And he is not.
Imogen1885 8 months ago
@Imogen1885 I know the family and I know that James is most definatly autistic. If he isn't a good dancer then how did he get 5th place in the biggest comp of the year?

One other thing. James came 5th in the biggest dance competition of the Freestyle calender last year. So that does make him a good dancer!!!
QueenieJoJo 8 months ago
@Imogen1885 Asperger's is Autism. I was diagnosed with Asperger's at 17 and it is a MILD form of Autism. It is not as severe as other forms of Autism but Asperger's is certainly a form of Autism.
LittleDirtyMonster 8 months ago
@Little Dirty Monster Everybody has autism these days. It's like the flu, it's been going round for years. I'm just fed up with people coming of these talents shows and claiming they were bullied in school or they have autism or tourette's. We've all got something. Stop going for the sympathy vote.

He got through on sympathy coz he's autistic and looks like an albino. Boohoo life goes on kid...
vedderfan94 8 months ago
@vedderfan94 thats really harsh its not because of that at all, for him to get on that stage and do that, he got through because hes 1 of the most talented there, and even though hes got autism hes proveing nothing can stop u from acheiving your dreams, and autism can be a horrible thing.
DemiKS3 8 months ago 3

DemiKS3 8 months ago
@DemiKS3 He had all this help and I have jack shit. And a might is nothing. I do, and you don't know how it feels.
Grantofglyn 8 months ago
@Grantofglyn no i dont and might kinda is cuz theres alot of chance, and sorry but y r u attacking the person who isnt being horrible about autism?
DemiKS3 8 months ago
@Grantofglyn If you don't get a chance, it's your problem no-one elses. If you want help, then go find help.
LittleDirtyMonster 8 months ago
@Grantofglyn With attitudes like you have, I doubt you'll ever be anything but a cynical jealous pig, just like you're being right here. Good luck on success - you'll need it. You certainly have no campassion.
dbmyers2 8 months ago
@DemiKS3 I'm not saying it isn't a horrible thing. The point I'm making is that whenever the judges comment on a performance from him, they always mention something relating to 'how far he has come' and a lot of is just sympathy for him having autism. Millions of other people have autism so I don't see why he should be seen as some incredible human.
vedderfan94 8 months ago
@vedderfan94 yes but autism or not i bet u couldnt dance like that. and also the judges say that to every act.

James is growing like a weed! He's gained several inches in the last few months. Fortunately it doesn't seem to have affected his dancing. His voice has also dropped, so it looks like early puberty for James.
ProFriend 8 months ago
What do I know about this style of dance, Not alot. But I had wondered if my audio was off or was James not in synch or was it paramount that the dancer move always in time with the music? I really like his story and see he is passionate and I hope he gets all the schooling that this kind of exposure may encourage. He seems to have all the atributes a dancer needs physically and as far as looks; (some comments here have been unkind and unwarranted) he looks just fine.
claztube 8 months ago
@claztube From what I can tell from the style, which British people call "disco"... there doesn't seem to be a lot of choreography coinciding with music, just a lot of "tricks" taken from Jazz and Acro. You should watch the BBC documentary about him and that style called Austism, Disco, and Me... I'm personally not a fan of the style, but I think that James has a lot of potential, despite my comments that I think that he's getting voted through for the wrong reasons.

should of been gay and alan. I mean james is such a gay. "Whats your name?" "James" "What are you doing" "Dancing" ..... I know he has autism or whatever but come on, no ones gonna vote for him in the final compared to Ronan and Les etc. Gay and Alan would of had a chance.

alvinucsk110 8 months ago
@alvinucsk110 I wouldn't expect that kind of comment from anyone. Tell me, would you laugh about cancer? I find it unbelievable that saying somebody has cancer would not be taken as a joke and yet, you think its OK to use the word "retard" or to label a disease such as Autism. Many do not realize that it is very offensive and that there is something seriously wrong about it. He's a lot talented than you will EVER be and I think you need to think before you put an inappropriate comment like that.

Things will only get better for him
BeckyBexRebecca 8 months ago
He's a wonderful dancer! So inspiring! And wow, has his voice changed! :)
dodaTiffany 8 months ago
I kind of find it refreshing that the choreography wasn't the best in the world, because it made the performance all about his passion and his love of dance and his connectivity to the music. He's talented and will only get better with age.
BreakfastAtJimminys 8 months ago

He is incredibly flexible and obviously has a passion for dance that I admire but he desperatley needs a good choreographer and needs to take some technique classes because I am sad to say that this is really bad! He has potential but if he carries on like this will never succeed professionally
dancefreak0292 8 months ago
@dancefreak0292 please remember he is still only relatively new to dance... AND he has only been doing ballet for the past year!! I think to achieve that sort of dance ability, with or without autism, is an achievement in itself...!! He has been accepted into a very prestigious ballet school for next year so im sure this will enable him to take his dance technique to the next level. There arent many boys of his age with his ability!

snowdrop18jb 8 months ago
JCAquarius2009 8 months ago
@JCAquarius2009
Let me start by saying that he's shit. I don't care if he's a quadrapalegic war veteran wheelchair user with no legs who's miraculously learnt to dance. I want to see talent, not talent acording to age range/ background. That's the bad thing about these shows; a 25 year old female dancer could leave the show while someone could stay in because they have the sob story.
muffin8or 8 months ago
@muffin8or A 25 year old dancer shouldnt need to be on this type of show if they actually have a talent.....cos they'll already be out working and living the dream......... just saying......
beaniebrooke 8 months ago
@beaniebrooke
u obviously know nothing about the entertainment industry.
florianfan2008 8 months ago
@beaniebrooke
You have no idea how the world wroks. There are thousands of dancers better than this guy, better than george sampson but are not 'living the dream'. They haven't had the opportunity or the market is too saturated with dancers for them to catch a break. There isn't a lot of money in stage performance. My old drama teacher told us that he always had a second job whether he was in work or out; you can't live on what they pay you
muffin8or 8 months ago
The thing i dont like about James is that if he was a 25 year old female, doing the EXACT same thing, No-one would care for that person. People are only making a fuss because who he is, not just what he does.
But yes, he is very good.
yutubeog 8 months ago
@yutubeog I actually agree with you, take away his story and all you will see is an untrained dancer that uses his flexibility to show off! If he gets properly trained he would be amazing but at the moment he is average and I dont understand all the fuss!
dancefreak0292 8 months ago
@yutubeog Why do you think it's a bad thing to like him more because of his story? The adversity that he's overcome to get to where he is makes his achievement greater. Watching his performance and considering just what he does seems cold and detached to me. To isolate his talent from his story dehumanizes the experience of watching him dance. It's a much more compelling experience to consider the gestalt of his being rather than just what he does.

He's just amazing, in my opinion :)
yadovich 8 months ago 2
But he's already been on two other shows! How many times is he going to go through, and get more chances than everyone else because he's autistic? I'm glad that Les got the top vote, because I honestly think that James might be going through for the wrong reasons - Great dancer for his age, not technically great. I don't mean to sound hostile, but I've seen him before... He should try So You Think You Can Dance in a few years, where they'll judge for the right reasons and be constructive.
SgtPepperGirl 8 months ago
@SgtPepperGirl The reason he's going on all these shows is because he wants to dance professionally and his family cannot possibly afford to send him to a professional dance school without sponsorship or a scholarship- which arent v readily available. My school was 45k for three years!!!I was lucky to go!
Hes putting himself out there so he can open up his chances of having a career as a dancer...which with the right training is completely within his reach. he's only 11&so much potential!
