i think most japanese who were watching this match (inc. myself) thought the judge was absolute BS.

it happens a lot to make the match longer for the sake of the program. in the end a lot of sponsors paying a lot of money, so the extra round probably was a way to adjust the length of the tv program. we all knew (and many wished) masato get his ass kicked. sadly we ain't that patriotic, morans...

Aside from Masato being Japanese, this fight was held in Tokyo, Japan, with a panel of Japanese judges. I can't speak for the judges, but the favoritism implied here isn't because Masato's a great or popular fighter, it's that he's a Japanese fighter. I'm guessing they overturned this decision, because Masato's wiki lists this as a loss.
