I'll soon be losing my younger sister, who is the closest person to me in my life. She is dying from cancer, and i've been listening to this song ever since i found out they wont be able to stop the cancer. When the day comes and she leaves this world, this song will be in my heart forever. Love You Alexandra!!

boy i love this song.. every time i hear that first chord and how it has that slide, just brings the emotion out. You no you have written a good song when just about everybody can relate to it in some sort of way. Brings a tear to your eyes every once in a while to show how fortunate some of us are, and how other may not be. Brilliant song james taylor deserves all the recognition that he has had . =)

This song must have helped him through a very tough time in his life--you can feel his grief and loss. It's probably helped others get through a loss or a tough time on life's roadway. It's just that kind of a song. He sings it without being flamboyant--always liked that about James Taylor.
